majormalfunction Posted September 13, 2013 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I have it installed on a laptop hdd. It has its uses as you know. You can run it as a "live" dvd or install it. I'd recommend the second option so you can update stuff. The learning curve can be high on various tools but read those forums and be patient :D . You can teach yourself as you go. FYI the tool "wash" (used with reaver) was broken on the Kali live dvd. You can install Kali on a spare hdd then create the needed folder. It'll work. Note that several much-used wi-fi cards (Intel chips come to mind) may not work or are buggy at times with many of the wi-fi tools. Alpha usb wi-fi cards are the way to go. It's not a bad distro.
