The RTM release (and lack of KMS activation) seems to cause panic and a flood of new users, maybe someone got hit with the banhammer and got pissed off.

@CODYQX4 why don't you open your awesome Microsoft Toolkit topic here as well as MDL its good for everyone as an alternative incase any time MDL down or something happen you have somewhere your topic is running for rest of the world.

It seems some group from Pakistan has hacked My Digital Life Forums. I went earlier today and they said the forum would be shutdown for 60 minutes.

Later visits bring up a hacked page...

Well, that 60 minutes hasn't ended yet ... so something is terribly wrong.

Off-topic : what exactly happened in the MDL that 'caused a panic' ? did someone post a KMS or something ?

Don't worry and wait. I hope they will leave the forum soon. Actually they want MDL to tighten their security so that this could not happen again. It is a very good forum and i am also a member of that. CODYQX4 work is very appreciative and in the future Microsoft or some other could attack that forum. So i hope they will learn a message from them. For those who have complaints that they are not seeing the hacked page, visit main page here;

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/

They are giving message:

Your security system low..!!

Pleas patch your system now..!!

Only foolish noobs and kiddies deface a website like this, real white hat and grey hat hackers never exploit the security holes, but report them in a polite manner. -_-

everyone has its own thinking and its own way of teaching. you definitely can think as you want and it is not necessary for others to agree with u. anyhow best of luck for MDL and all of us.

Malicious activity is not equivalent to free thinking or to teaching. It is criminal activity, nothing else.

It's nothing about thinking or teaching, if these kiddies would have taken any education or teachings in hacking, they would have learned that hackers' job is to find security holes, not exploit them to boast themselves and their fellow kiddies, that, in expense of the work administrators have to do to fix things up, get it up and running, in addition to loss of number of visitors that want to access the important information.

Not only that, all the educated hackers follow or have to follow a protocol of reporting exploits, something that these kiddies will have no idea of.

what we are doing at MDL, finding ways to activate windows and offices. Is is not a malacious activity? Is it according to law? The discussion can go long. Keep it clean.

Why are you getting so personel? If you have knowledge, offer them. If not wait and hope for good. Don't be emotional. Discussion opens minds that this can be a reason.

Any such action, from script kiddies, deserves nothing, nothing other than harsh criticism. These kiddies have a lot a of time in their hands, time, which they can make better use of. Wasting theirs and others time by defacing a site is disgraceful and uncultured form of hooliganism.

You defend it to a large degree as it you had a hand in it. There is no reasonable reason to do what was done. They have defaced a site that does not belong to them, yes that is criminal in most of the world.

It is not a rational means of teaching anything, period. Should a software company put in code to erase your hard disk for attempting to hack their software? Should you burn down your neighbors house to teach him the value of water sprinklers? Should you rob the corner store to teach him the value of hiring an armed guard?

Think about it there is little difference between what they have done and the other items.

Even if what MDL was doing was illegal, which it apparently is not as it has not been taken down and only offers information, not illegal downloads; would fighting it with illegal means be the way to go?
