Dear members

I'm about to get myself a new laptop. I will primary use it for school work, such as c charp, virtualbox, office. Watching movies in fullhd, downloading and sometimes playing diablo 3. Im not out for a gaming laptop that can play demanding games in high settings. as long as it can play diablo 3 on medium im happy.

my maks budget is 6000kr = 1055 dollars.

I have looking at these two laptops

a dell

http://www.dell.com/dk/p/inspiron-15r-se-7520/pd?oc=cn15s11&model_id=inspiron-15r-se-7520

and an asus

http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=790146#extra

the specs of both is similar but the dell has a fullhd resolution screen. but an 2GB AMD Radeon HD 7730M

while the asus has nvidia gt 740m.

So guys, which would u choose and why. people say to me asus is better cuz more quality but the dell has fullhd resolution.

i would appreciate some expert answers on which to choose and why. the price is nearly the same to notic

Ahh okay i see, thanks for the honesty, but other than support, do you know how dell is regarding quality of the components. i dont want something that gets broken of faulty components or anything so, i have several friends who have asus and they love and i can se that asus is good. but regarding those two laptops i mentioned it just seems u get more with dell for the same price. full hd resolution, 1 tp hdd.

ASUS, it will gives you more power and less cost, for me DELL is an out dated company that push high prices and gives shity hardware.

Its my opinion, try yourself to build your own experience by surfing amazon for example and check between laptop prices and spec to get an idea about your next purchase

Asus sounds better all around, although i haven't had much experience with them. I have had nothing but problems with Dell. Supposedly they are really hard to customize even on desktops too. I have been fine with using Compaq's and i have had good experience with the HP techs.

thanks all for the replies. it seems that everybody says asus, but when you look at the hardware on both, u cant deny that dells beats asus in this case so why asus. i mean u get fullhd resolution and 1 tb hdd, so why still asus when price is almost the same??

i must admit my self im also more to the asus but why? is dell shitty??

You can't overclock your hardware, its limited you can't upgrade more than once, hardware is pricy, AMD is an overclocked CPU even the Radeon graphical card is capable of overclocking, Dell had no possibility to overclock, Drivers update is a pros side in Dell but still 1 TB of hard drive isn't enough to compare, is it 7500 rpm speed or more, is it fast or slow to exchange data with memory in less time, ( Most problems are coming from the Hard drive ), the graphical card support new technologies, i can give you two graphical cards had the same memory 1 GB for example, but the first is dated in 2010 and the second dated in 2012 which one in your point of view will be more reliable and useful in gaming ?

If you want me to help you give me which desktops or laptops do you have an eye on ( would you like to buy ) and i will compare them both to give you the best choice we can on that...

Have you looked at Lenovo Y5xx laptops? Their refub laptops are almost brand new and have very good spec for your needs. http://outlet.lenovo.com

You can also use this site to compare video specs: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php

I currently own 2 of their refub pcs and very happy with them. T410 and X1 Carbon Touch.

They have sales once in a while so if you want to get better deals, you'll have to check with them once in a while.
