First install the drivers from CD,before inserting the Printer's USB cable to PC.If you tried this earlier, may be there is some problem with USB port, try with different USB port.BTW the images are not clear enough to see the error.

LOL! Time for RMA :( !!!

RMA? what is it?

A return merchandise authorization (RMA) or return goods authorization (RGA) is a part of the process of returning a product in order to receive a refund, replacement, or repair during the product's warranty period. The purchaser of the product must contact the manufacturer (or distributor or retailer) to obtain authorization to return the product. The resulting RMA or RGA number must be displayed on or included in the returned product's packaging; no returns are accepted without this number.

In simple words ask your organisation to contact the Customer Support Centre, only they can help you!

i would download the drivers from the canon site (latest drivers) , then start this setup and wait to connect the printer when it ask for it..

in hardware you better remove this unknown device. and do not connect the printer before you have run the setup.

make sure you not connect the printer to a usb 3 port (bleu ports) us the black ports !

you should also try windows updates with the printer connected.

if this is not working try another usb cable . if everything fails then it must be a bad device and have to be returned where it came from.

1- The Screenshot you provided is so low in resolution!, I could not read the error message

2- Did you run the Installer as admin? if not Run it as Administrator

3- If nothing worked,Go to the device manager you stated.. select the "yellow exclamation" you stated in your description, right-click on it > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software > Browse > Select the CD directory (check "include subfolders") and next.. and see if it works, the trick saved me a lot of times :)

The driver for the USB controller may have become corrupted or simply disappeared. Try this:

Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager.

Highlight 'USB Controller', right-click, choose 'Uninstall'.

Close Control Panel. Reboot.

Windows should re-detect the controller and re-install it's driver.

If the system does not detect the USB printer, then you simply add it manually.

If It Fails Try This:

Go to Control Panel.

Select All Control Panel Items.

Open Devices and Printers.

At the top of the window, select Add a Printer.

Select Add a Local Printer.

In Choose a Printer Port, select Use an existing port.

In the drop down menu, select the USB001(Virtual Printer Port for USB).

Select the Next Button.

In the Manufacturers section, select Canon.

In the Printers section, look for your printer model and select it.

Note: If your printer does not appear in the Canon list, select the nearest series model number.

Click the Windows Update Button. WU will search the driver database for all Canon printers.

Note: The search may take some time, be patient.

When the search is complete, go back to the Canon section and your printer should now appear there. Select it and click the Next Button.

Your printer will appear in the printer name box, click Next again and the printer will be installed.

Hope this helps.

if everything Fails including above mentioned methods & Changing the USB cable, you need to Contact the Canon Customer Support for the replacement.

P.S: You have also started a thread on MDL Forum for this Issue, AFAIK there is nothing that you can do to make it work rather than replacing the product.
