Ubuntu 12.04 LTS-based Distros?

I've been tinkering with distros again and I finally decided to actually try one out on my main machine. Now I was never a huge fan of Canonical's 9-Month release cycle with Ubuntu so I never really liked using the mainstream releases like 13.04 but instead I prefer the LTS ones that last 5 whole years before being replaced by another LTS version. Then again, you can always update but nevermind its too much of a hassle. :)

Thanks a bunch! I'm also Googling it to see if I come across one that I like (which I probably would)

I have tried alot over the last month. I believe Bodhi linux to be the best LTS based distro. It features options in the boot loader for AMD based graphics, no one else has this in the top 10 listed on Distrowatch. 32 & 64 options, several nice layout choices, minimal. New package management similar to Windows, browse and download what you want to install. Works flawlessly. New stable E17 enlightenment desktop is faster and has more beauty than gnome. I am really impressed. Tried it before with an earlier release, but found it buggy. The developer picked up developement on unstable E17, the version I tried, and has now brought to us the first stable E17 distro that I know of.

Great recommendation - and of most interest to me...:

Is the lightweight DE; very glad to hear that someone is working on E17, it looked promising, but was buggy.

BTW - the Bodhi site is quite strange and their vids won't work for me.

I'd love to see screenies of this OS distro too, but all they have is 'best pics of the week'...odd indeed.

Thanks.
