Oxymoron=>"more secure" "says Microsoft"

I am endlessly amazed whenever anyone considers mikro$oft as if it is some kind of god or authority about anything besides it's own PROFITS.

So when it speaks out about 'security' this amuses me greatly.

This latest marketing tirade is hilarious as it is aimed squarely at folks who live in endless fear and who seem willing to spend, spend, spend - thinking it will somehow make them feel 'safe'.

Speaking just for myself - I have never seen that tactic be successful yet.

BUT:

If one wants to be endlessly 'safe' and 'secure' there is a very simple solution=>

Start by staying off the internet completely forever, and then eliminate any/all forms of anything that makes one feel 'unsafe' until one finally, really feels 'safe'.

And - I bet that when someone who does that finally does feel 'safe', they are in an underground bunker with 20 years supply of canned food, bottled water - and not a soul to talk with.

So I have to say I laughed right out loud when I saw this article:

"Windows 8 is 6x more secure than Windows 7 & 21x Windows XP, says Microsoft"

The article concludes thusly:

"Interestingly, Microsoft has also pinned down the security status of its old operating systems. According to the same blog post, Windows XP is 21 times and Windows 7 is 6 times more likely to get infected than Windows 8. And just so you know, 3rd party fancy antivirus software and firewalls are not enough to protect you."

Which I interpret just like this=>

BUY MORE STUFF !!!

NEWER IS ALWAYS BETTER !!!

MAKE mikro$oft EVEN RICHER !!!

:lol: :lol: :lol: Too cute & funny !!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Man i understand the whole "Evil M$" blablabla..

But you really think that windows 8 are not more secure than 7? If the article is writing something true then why are you bashing?

Im using Windows 8 for my 2 desktops and 3 laptops in my family. Honestly its way more speedy and especially for laptops, it was so much easier than 7 to do clean install without running around finding the correct drivers.

Just cause people dont like the start screen it became a trend to bash win8 in every possible way.

Guess what.. Visuals are just preference.. The "under the hood" improvements are real.

This was all beautifully explained here=>

Historians say this is how it went, though since records were destroyed the exact events are unknown.

1. First the government lobotomized the people.

2. Then the people lobomotized their software.

3. Then the software started demanding .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile to be installed to do anything.

And I must add that if Douglas Adams was still around - he could not have said it any better !!!

You didnt need to create a new thread for this as there is already a thread for it:

http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/182237-windows-8-is-21-times-safer-than-xp-and-6-times-safer-than-windows-7/

You can post in that one and it can bump the thread its unnecessary to create a new one..

Too funny - from here=>

http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/182871-german-it-officials-reportedly-deem-windows-8-too-dangerous-to-use/

"The National Security Agency’s snooping practices may be costing American companies a lot of money. German publication Zeit Online has obtained leaked documents that purportedly show that IT experts within the German government believe that Windows 8 contains back doors that the NSA could use to remotely control any computers that have it installed."

Yep, makes me feel REALLY secure about using that...NOT !!

And thanks holmes:

You didnt need to create a new thread for this as there is already a thread for it:

Posting lessons not needed by this olde fart, thanks.

(And...I needed to add someone to my ignore prefs here - it was empty thus far - welcome 'new member' !!!)
