Thanks for the update and for adding gags patch, but again it's not working, nearly the same thing as before. After installing it, it keeps giving a popup which says, IDM has not been installed properly and do we want to find out how to install it properly. The last gag patch was giving popups about a registry problem. Tell me if it's just me doing something wrong, but i did follow the intructions to the letter.

are you running vista?

honestly man both myself (xp sp3) and a few other guys whom I gave the patch over msn that are using vista, haven't reported any problems with it. It's working just fine for them.

You prob have used alphas-patcher in the past I recon....please uninstall IDM completely using your uninstaller, and then try again with the gag patch.

I'm using xp pro sp3 32bit. I'll try again and see if i did something wrong. I love the way gags patch takes that stupid "registration" menu and the others dont. I'll let you know how it goes.

edit ~

ok i think i downloaded the old patch from the download page before it was updated, but after trying this one i get this..

2qx6pvl.jpg

also the "registration" menu is still there, unlike every other gag patch i've used. if it's working for you tho, it must be me. i installed it using the BRD patch and keygen and it's working fine.

that's two gag patches that haven't worked for me now, but never mind, thanks anyway :dance2:

n.b tried it on my own system(xpsp3) and in vmware(xpsp3) and i get the same thing

Thanks for the info, and it did indeed remove the "Registration" menu this time, but i still get an error, the same one from 5.15.6 version..

Happens when starting IDM and IE or Firefox .

Definatly not working this one, at least not for me, but thanks anyway :)

The error that you're getting isn't from the gag patch, but from the BRD one.

You said you used it and it works fine, but it left behind a bunch of rubbish in the registry.

Please type "regedit" in the run box, and delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Internet Download Manager" completely.

This should wipe out any traces left by the keygen, and will allow gag's patch to properly work with IDM 5.16

Honestly mate it's not the BRD patch, i'm not that bad as to not know which patch im using... yet :D, it's not anything to do with leftovers

either. I know to remove the registry keys, and to make double sure, i tested it in vmware, using a clean install snapshot with no other

software installed. That screenshot i took was from vmware xpprosp3 32bit. I've followed the instructions to the letter, even tried a few other

ways of doing it, still no good, for me and it seems others too. But as always, thanks for your time :dance2:
