I have windows 8 Pro

Browser: IE10

The favorites IE shortcuts lose its icons and all shows the same icon (logo) which is that for IE

I have not installed any software recently

how can I resolve this?

the strange is that shortcuts in the favorites folder (c/users/path/favorites) have the original icons but when I open favorites from toolbar

all icons are not present

try to reset all settings in internet explorer. (internet options - advanced) and clear user customized settings also.

restart en test again. if this not helping you have to set internet explorer back as default.

i think you have installed google chrome and removed the links from within internet explorer. if so you can use this registry code to restore the links back as normal setting.

copy below and save as fix-links.reg

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.htm]
@="htmlfile"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.html]
@="htmlfile"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.shtml]
@="htmlfile"

now you just double click this regfile and restart en try again.

You has deleted data relationed with favorites, if you wanna to see icons, again, then open links one to one.
