Even more bad news

Mary Jo Foley claims that her sources have told her that Microsoft are "not planning to make available the final Windows 8.1 bits to its MSDN or TechNet subscribers shortly after the release RTMs." This is terrible news for everyone. With Windows 8, TechNet and MSDN users gained access to the RTM 2 weeks after the bits went final. This time we won't be getting it until October.

Yeah but someone will leak the rtm version anyways so...

M$ really screwing us over now

rtm in october read this in the verge as well

changing kms, no iso from msdn and wzor not around, there was talk of a validity check for store download hope that does not come true. wonder if a partner will leak rtm iso but doubt it.

Yeah rtm version is still going to be released before the month of august ends. And I guarantee someone will leak the official rtm version. For the activation part there is lots of smart people around the world still just waiting for rtm.

Not sure why some are complaining because MS is delaying the release. If it's to work out bugs and help push PC manufactures to work out any bugs so when you finally get 8.1 you wouldn't have problems with it. Personally MS should take all the time it needs so later on they are not swamped with calls because 8.1 isn't booting correctly or some driver is causing the system to crash, slow or just be plain unusable. As you can tell MS is trying to pull off another Windows 7 with 8.1. Really though, i think these issues should be worked out in the beginning and make sure PC manufactures are on board before releasing an OS. It happens with every OS when it's first released. I think it even happened with Windows Vista and Windows 7, although i had zero problems (other then lack of RAM).
