How to block .DLL files within W7 Firewall [SOLVED]

sirri

Recommended Posts

So far, I could not find in Setting/option to block this kind of file. All return to block only .EXE ( inbound/outbond).

Does anyone know how ?

with 3rd party Firewall such PrivateFirewall, it can easily be done.

DLL is just application extension. You must block app that use that DLL file not DLL file ;)

0veR is right, dll can't be executed without application (.exe)

Check your registry, your dll file maybe registered and executed by Windows

Well you cant be that concerned or you would be using a 3rd party personal firewall rather then the inbuilt crap.

Yep, I love the nativity and lightness of Windows Firewall Control - wish it would bring more granularity.
