[Solved] My android phone connects to my wifi but will not let me surf

I am using a samsung android phone. it shows that i'm connected but I can't get any further than that internet does not work... ?? How can I fix this so I can connect and surf the web?

BTW im on my home network which is working gr8 till yesterday morning ,and mobile data also working fine i can browse or dnld via mobile data

( fone is galaxy SIII GT I9300)

Check for the DNS settings of both router and mobile.

add your phone mac address to whitelist of mac address filter in your router settings.

Maybe your router has died? OR MAYBE a Ethernet Cable gave out (this has happened to me once with a router btw)??? Just a thought....

@LiLmEgZ router is fine im browsing net via pc and its wirless router

BTW now i am able browse but it took a while almost 10 mins after connecting to wireless network

Somtetimes that happens with a few of my android devices, They connect to the router but can't obtain an ip address, I just go into the settings and turn wifi off and then back on again, Then it works, Not sure why this happens.

It could also be a firmware bug within the Android OS, as each version of the Android OS is variant to the device, it maybe worth looking for an update to your version ?

Disconnect Wifi. Go into Android Settings > WiFi > your WiFi name > Show Advanced Options > IP Settings > Static > enter a IP address here, something like 192.168.1.5, Gateway: 192.168.1.1, DNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 > re-enter your WiFi password > Connect. Try now. :)

Otherwise, as mentioned, happens sometimes, when it does, keep trying. ;)

thanx for the help guys problem solved by resetting the router settings and DNS settings
