[Solved] Explorer.exe error

Is your graphic drivers Installed? Outdated or corrupt video drivers can cause Windows Explorer to stop working. Downloading and installing the latest video driver can solve many of these issues.

someone there

Now at least we know that every file in your machine is original so the problem well be in your user profile

you can try to make new user account and see the result

The only way you can get it to work is by uninstalling BetterExplorer - your Explorer.exe actionables have been taken over by BetterExplorer.exe

BetterExplorer has failed to return your Explorer actionables to default - such programs are highly unrecommended (on the whole, I stay away from anything that messes with Explorer.)

Hope you have a backup, in hand - FWIW, Rx Rollback is not a reliable partner in crime (functions with some 'ifs' and 'buts.')

Find the file extension in question under the

*HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts*

key in the registry. Deleting the sub-key with the same name as the extension you want to un-associate will delete the default program association. You'll have to kill and restart explorer.exe for this to take effect.

and download that

good luck ;)

Have you tried to install betterexplorer and uninstall it again? Or another like xyplorer.

Do you need to click the one that gives the error? If everything else is working properly.

I had problems similar when using xyplorer, It just needed me to set it as default to replace explorer.

Yes..you can reinstall better exp. by using a tool like Ashampoo uninstaller and monitor the instalation..

after that you can remove it with Ashampoo Uninstaller

Revo uninstaller pro has also a monitor feature.

A simple question..

What does actually sfc/scannow (file system check) do to the system?

As after performing this scan it has removed my customizations, even my additional themes are not working now. :(

should i repatch using any ThemePatcher?

After Patching with Universal ThemePatcher.. my additional themes are working now.

but when i replaced ExplorerFrame.dll and imageres.dll in system32 folder with the help of live CD(bootable pendrive),these files always get restored with the original ones after rebooting.

how to replace these files? :( :(

A simple question..

What does actually sfc/scannow (file system check) do to the system?

It brings the integrity of all system files to default Microsoft state - the correct command is Sfc /ScanNow

As after performing this scan it has removed my customizations, even my additional themes are not working now. :(
