Marik
There is no better and not better when it comes down to NodLogin and NodEnablerIt comes down to personal taste..Just go with whatever you want, they both do the jobI just happen to like NodLogin, while Raymond likes NodEnablerhttp://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/11/25/nodenabler-vs-nodlogin-which-is-better/

They do the exact same job.

Marik
I'll always stick with NodLogin because it was the first of its kind.NodEnabler is nothing more than a rip-off...a wannabe...and that's why I'll never use it.It's just like the comparison between all these gaming companies that struggle to make mmorpg's....when everybody plays WOW...they should give up, because what their trying to make already exists....and the fact that almost half the world plays is (if not more), proves that it's the best of its kind. KotaXor
Love both (Nodlogin and NodEnabler). As I have subscribe to UlisesSoft and get my Nodlogin right away, I prefer to stay with Nodlogin. (simple as that)

Can you call them rip offs or wanna bes?I know I sound kinda defensive but Im just curious. Usually your answers make sense to me, this one doesnt click as well... Rock Lee
Thanks for the link to this article but this raises another question for me which is what about SuperGetValidI was just about to ask the same. I tried looking for it, couldnt find it. SuperGetValid sounds like the exact same as the 2 programs I asked aboutanyway tho. If there is a difference it must be a big one... I couldnt think of a better way to become Picaso Lee &paint a good picture. I tried to illustrate it with others, it didnt work as well.Yeah I figured out that in the 12 rounds thread. Jeff, John & Hunter, you went off on all of them :D I did & still do. What I wrote brought back so many memories I went up to the attic & got theN64 down. Im still looking for Super Mario 64 but when I find it its back to 98-99 for me :dunno:
Donaldo
Though I possess a valid NOD32 license, I rarely use it - instead, I would run both - NodLogin as well as NodEnabler simultaneously on V2. I find the NodLogin 1-step more effective whereas, I love the funky language that the NodEnabler Developers bring you in your system bubble message notifications

KotaXor
That's why to be fair, I use NodEnabler on my v2.7 Nod32 and Nodlogin on another machine using v4.xx Nod32.Both works effectively so far.
bachikho
just a little difference: nodlogin doesn't need self-defense to be turn off but nodenabler is not recognised as a virus by eset!
LeetPirate
just a little difference: nodlogin doesn't need self-defense to be turn off but nodenabler is not recognised as a virus by eset!no you are wrong, Nod32 v4 does not detect either one as a virus. Unless you enabled detection for "potentially unwanted programs". I don't enable that feature because it just detects hacks and cracks, nothing legit, only false positives. True viruses will be detected by the signatures.
Donaldo
. . . . . . agreed, LeePirate - he's actually referring here to the operational difference between the two fixes NodLogin & NodEnabler vis-a-vis the self-defense feature which is a different feature. As far as the 'potentially unwanted applications' is concerned, I keep it disabled (unchecked,) myself. LeetPirate
Nice to see the v4 'Self-defense' being conquered.LoL, while it is nice, it's still kinda sad because the mere fact that it took the nodlogin coders so little time to bypass it means any virus could do the same. As for functional differences I doubt there are any and I could guess that NodEnabler would have a new version that does the same thing as the new NodLogin in the near future. I do like the corny comments made by NodEnabler though and the icon is nicer.
Noddy
Yeah, NodEnabler will eventually catch up with NodLogin. The NodEnabler guys use lovely slang that appeals to most of us (the Peruvians might find that difficult to catch up with.)
donmai
i dont care too much for av. i leave it off and only perform scans when im curious (although ill be sandboxing anyway).anyway, first time installing an AV in years.. i dont know which came first, nor do i care.my experience.. used nodlogin first.. it worked its magic and notified me that nod32 was cool for an update. however the update would not process. nodenabler ran through a series of liceases and eventually came up with one that worked, which did. :) +1 for nodenabler. manpe
When running NodEnabler and checking the LastRunResult.txt I always find it saying "Could not contact an ESET update server. Probably an internet connection problem."Although I haven't had any problems updating for ages now, I don't know if it's working properly or not. But I suppose it is if I'm getting the definitions regularly.
