Android Phone or Android Tablet?

Okay I'm planning on buying an Android Device but I got stuck when 2 superior devices with the exact same prices of the same brand showed up in front of me.

The brand is unknown so I decided not to tell.

Here's the specs of the phone:

Processor | 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor

Operating System | Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
Camera | 5.0 MegaPixels with Flash Main and VGA Front
Display | 4.0 Inches IPS Capacitive Touch Screen
Connectivity | WiFi, 3G, HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE, GPS, Bluetooth
RAM | 512 MB
Memory | 4 GB Built In, 32 GB MicroSD Slot
Messaging | Dual Sim, SMS, Email, MMS, IM
Dimensions | 123 mm x 62.5 mm x 11.8 mm

Here's the specs of the tablet:

  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • 1.0 GHz Quad-core processor
  • 7 Inches IPS High Definition Touch Screen Display
  • 1 GB RAM
  • WiFi, WiFi Hotspot
  • 8 GB Built-in Storage
  • MicroSD up to 32 GB
  • 2 MP Rear Camera and 0.3 MP Front Camera
  • 4,000 milliamp hours battery

Screw the other parts that probably doesn't make sense.

My sister has the tablet and is quite happy with it so I can't rule it out. Now for the price, they are exactly $95.40. The phone can be upgraded to Android 4.1 which will be around anytime this month or this year. I plan to buy one for Christmas since I'm quite bored with my Android-looking "smartphone" which costed around $35. I browse a lot and do the occasional gaming and from what I heard it can run Temple Run like Angry Birds for both the Tablet and the Phone so yeah.

The tablet seems to be superior so a better choice especially if you don't care about the 'phone call" feature ^^

Though the price is less, 512MB RAM for the phone isn't good enough in my opinion.

Also, a lot of small companies market a lot of features in the phones / tablets, but those features only exist on paper, not real, so make sure you confirm it's features before buying.

The camera on the phone is better if that's important to you. The tablet has a larger screen for reading, but that makes it less portable. You might want to feel how heavy the tablet is too.

Okay so rounding up the so far votes, all the features on paper exist on the phone itself. I have used the phone from a friend while my sister has the tablet. I do like to read articles specifically news from Nsane. At the moment, I do videos a lot so I guess the camera from the phone will do me good. I also like to browse whenever there's WiFi so the phone suites me better. What I'd use the tablet for is primarily browsing and almost no extreme app use (like Temple Run or Angry Birds).

Newegg has refurbished 16gb Nexus 7s for $199. I like the Nexus devices because they run stock Android without bloatware, are easy to root, and get os updates faster.

I recently purchased the Nexus 4 & 7 at the same time, if you can stretch to the Nexus 7 you won't be dissapointed.

We were looking and playing with that tablet at SM. Seems to be a good deal at 3999 PHP.
