Actually, I won it from MobileSyrup.com.

I haven't activated it on my cell account yet, because it won't work with WIND, so I've got to go back to Telus...not a problem.

So, my question is this:

What apps, etc. should I get for it?

Here's some that I use that might be useful to you too:

Solid Explorer

Nova Launcher (if you want a 3rd-party Launcher)

Network Monitor Mini (Pro) to view real-time network speed

3G Watchdog to monitor mobile data usage

Beautiful Widgets

MX Player for videos

Adfree Android to remove ads (must be rooted though)

There are so many good ones. You'll find them as you go along.

There are lots of good apps on google play store. It'd be of much help if you specified what you intend to do on your phone (take pictures, watch movies, etc.).

I won't be watching movies on the phone, I've got a desktop & laptop for that.

Pictures, probably not many, as I've got a 16MP digital camera.

I'll be listening to music, I text, but not much, play some games.

By the way, how do I access "My Apps", etc. from within Google Play, because I just can't seem to figure it out..?!

My Apps can be accessed via Menu by pressing on the top right corner. ;)

That would be possible, if they option were there, it's not, that is why I asked!

EDIT: Finally figured out how to access the "My Apps" section of the store.

For pictures, not sure if there's any point in recommending camera apps as Samsung's stock camera is pretty impressive.

For music, you can use Google Play Music (if you've stored music in-the-cloud) or PowerAmp (for more control over your music). But I believe for most purposes, stock music player will suffice.

As for games, you can search for games on Google Play store, nothing I can recommend since I'm not sure which genres of games you're interested in.

Accessing 'My Apps', Play Store > Menu button (capacitive button to the left of the home button) and you'll see 'My Apps' on the list.

3G Watchdog to monitor mobile data usage

Lol.

S3 & S4 got built-in mobile data usage monitoring and limiting with flowcharts.

Yes, I have built-in data monitor on ICS as well, but still use this anyways.

Did you even bother to read my OP, actually, it's obvious you didn't!

If I was going to buy the phone, I'd get the real octa-core version, and not the stupid american quad-core version which we got here in Canada, because Canada is so obviously america!

Your OP says nothing about your phone version. You should be grateful you got the Snapdragon variant.
