Toshiro
Vista doesn't need a third party firewall to slow down the system. Its own firewall is good enough.Omfg, that's discussed like a thousand times.. And yeah everybody has it's reasons..Some prefer the OS firewall, other 3rd party firewall. Anyone who wants it, can have it. If some prefer OS firewall it's also good. But i have to say that the 3rd party Firewalls do a better job. Giving you info about what wants to connect to .... (imagine something :D)And Yeah Rock, enjoy your victory :sneaky:I'm a 16 year old schoolkid.. This week i'm kinda busy as hell.. Tomorow English Presentation (easy as hell :P) and a huge Physics test.. (meh )Next week would be great! :fool:
Rock Lee
I knew someone would eventually disagree with something. The vista firewall thing is you opinion, which is fine with me.None of the stuff I have on here is absolutely mandatory, youcan get everything or pick & choose certain things. If you dontlike something then dont use it. Simple as that...

nooooooooo
I can't believe you featured Comodo more than Outpost... blasphemy! I know it's free but am I the only one who hates Comodo's firewall? Everything is really confusing and hard to find, it isn't intuitive at all. Likewise, I say the same for NOD32, but only because it's options are all over the place (look how many ThreatSenses you set). I use that though. Nice guide... too bad I didn't know about this contest lol, I would have tried it too!Tips I don't think I saw in your guide but I only scanned so I may be wrong:- Get Eraser... not shredded files = eventually come back to haunt you if unfortunate- Put the firewall into Block Most/All mode when not using your computer

Comodo's firewall is really easy to use for me & so is ESET. Some may not knowwhere everything is (ESET v4's nav is cleaner) but a little time to acclimate yourself should do the trick.*I did say why I chose Comodo in the guide, that should elaborate more. Thanks for the tips. Under consideration for v3 :D

Under consideration for v3 ^_^Outpost sucks resources? Hot damn, I had no idea (my computer is on technology's last legs)... I really don't mind Comodo at all but I just can't wrap my head around the way it's designed... I put it on friends computers and I'm like "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" lol. I just want to see somebody pimp out the GUI. Eset I don't mind either but instead of grouping by real time/email scan/etc, let us sort by ThreatSense/cleaning options instead? Yeah my brain works wordsback. That and is there a "I know what I"m doing option"... I NEVER use email/document scanning and well don't even get that many of either but the icon is like yellow 24/7 if you turn off those features since they think there's something wrong. hey do you know a work around for that? And what about Comodo's AV? If AVG is as "good" as McAfee (well by default it's not McAfee so it blows it it into another galaxy) then how is Comodo doing I wonder... actually how is Agnitum doing as well. I think I need to test some more AV's out or at least look them up. but probably back to nod.
donizme
nice job!!!! Toshiro
Yeah, outpost eats all the resources  I uninstalled it last week on my dad's machine, and you could tell the difference... And, **** the GUI, Nod32's GUI is great, beautiful... But do i need it? Nope, cuz I open Eset like 1 time in the whole month.. Same if you had Comodo. It's doing it's job. If you wanna use a different firewallthen by all means do it. No one's forcing you to use the things I put in my guide. Iput them there because I felt they made the cut. I tested each & every software mentioned in this guide myself & then decided which to use. I would never simply gooff of just charts & graphs. This is for quality, defense & speed. Take one of those outof the equation & my guide is useless. Outpost or not, all I was trying to do is provide info :DEDIT:nice job!!!! Mr. Papeto
Rock Lee thanks a lot for this guide. I've already installed comodo and my pc feels lighter. I was using outpost and that firewall sure eats up resources. One quick question, do you recommend having both firewalls on, comodo and Eset Smart Security?Congratulations Rock Lee you deserve it :)

I was eating a PB&J :sneaky: No problem for the guide. There's an updated version coming soon. Look out for it :yes:Anyway, I noticed the same as you when I ditched outpost. As I stated in the guide, the point is to keep speed while having security. I hate a slow PC just as much as the next guy & the last thing I want to do is slow yours down. Glad I could help in this area :welcome:That depends on how secure you wish to feel. Some would say no but I feel it's all about the situation. If you feel that you will be more protected with both on then be my guest and do so. If not, then dont. My recommendation: Use both. Can't be too careful of these ever changing viruses :tank:Thanks for the congrats man. I appreciate it :)
shought
Running two firewalls at a time was never recommended, because they might conflict with each other. But you can try and if you don't experience any problems it's probably OK..
