i'm sticking to v5 for the time being as i've only just got use to it and its settings...v6 is much sleeker but appears more complicated (it was the annoying alert window sound that made me revert to back to v5)

You can disable the sound. :)

I'd like to disable the new GUI too. Where can I do that?

Seriously, for a long time on nsane when someone needed a firewall recommendation Comodo was always it. Not so sure that I feel that way anymore with this Version 6.XX . Like sefton22 I also moved back to Version 5 -- tried V6 for a few weeks and hated it!. The problem with sticking with V5 is that it will begin to become a security concern without updates. Which seems to mean that many of us will need a new firewall option to consider. Any ideas? I've used Comodo for so long now I'm not sure what to switch to..... But given V6 I will definitely need some new ideas.

Is anybody using Comodo firewall 6 with Avast 8? If so are you experiencing any issues with this build?

Hi nishadrox. I am using Comodo Firewall 6 with Avast 8 on my Windows 7 (X86) system. I have not had any problems with these programs on my system thus far. I have just updated Comodo Firewall to version 6.1.276867.2813 with no problem but will let you know if any issues arise.

I didn't like the change myself, with the complete revamping of configurations - have got used now to the new (albeit comparatively unintuitive) implementation. Still hate the fact that they integrated the SandBox with HIPS (to a certain extent.) <_<

Would urge people to migrate from the V5 to the V6 purely for the bug-fixes & performance improvements - do check out the changelog. ^_^

Can someone tell me how to set the firewall in this to a simple in\out type....ie...That it simply alerts to ALL new outgoing requests, no whitelisting?

Well you can remove whitelisting by the following procedure - select & remove:-

Thanks dcs18, I know whitelisting has its purpose, I just like to have the chance to say yes or no to anything other than system files.

There was an awkward thing going on in the last version that made me uninstall CFW that was all the rulesets were set to block and no allow like I was used to and it resulted in massive internet slowdowns and me not being able to play some games because it was blocking the protocols.

Oh yeah, I can relate to - you wanting to have a manual over-ride (a sure sign of an Advanced User.)
