nsane.forums Posted March 2, 2009 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Proves once again the failure of their "sue-em-all" strategy.Digital Music News is reporting that the RIAA has "reduced a substantial amount of staff" and that it's "sources pointed to 'significant' layoffs in the range of 30, and chops across various regional, anti-piracy units."After having run one of the most idiotic lawsuit campaigns in the history of lawsuit campaigns it really comes as no surprise. Rather than see the Internet as a medium for reaching new audiences in exciting and creative means it instead tried to somehow put a padlock on it, angering tens of thousands of music fans in the process. The music industry forced Apple to lock up iTunes with some of the most frustrating DRM around and then couldn't figure out why it had no way to leverage Apple into raising prices.
