Bizarre™
There is a big difference between KB/s and Kb/s.The former KB/s is Kilo Bytes per second. The latter Kb/s is Kilo Bits per second.Convert Kb/s to KB/s and you'll get your real speed.Formula: (Kb/s ÷ 8 = KB/s)8 bits = 1 byte
Anteus
That's not the thing here. It's that you got cable, you share a speed with others in the "area" sometimes when no one other is using it you get all the speed. My friend here in Sweden pays for 10/1 but gets 40/1 in the night :P

Bizarre™
@Anteus:IMHO opinion, DSL is still better.DSL connection has fixed bandwidth, and that is its forte.Cable connection can sometimes be fast and sometimes be slow, because as you said "you share speed with others." Anteus
Yes, I got ADSL myself and trimmed the speed to 15/1 Mbits from 7/1 with some calls to the ISP and the phoneline provider.
drmaster
I've learn that max cable speed is 30m kb/sbut the company caps the speed @ whatever service you subscribe.Road runner offer 1.5M, 6M, and 10MMy line is standard service which should be caped at 6m kb/s.Apparently then they removed the cap for what ever the reason.Their service was unstable recently.Maybe, to compansate that instability they temporary removed the cap? who knows...
