AlexCross
I have this problem for few days.I want to get a subscription for a good VPN that comes with encryption and all kind of security stuff, i'm not realy good at these things, but first thing I did is to try some trial VPNs and then decide what to buy.I managed to find some giveaway and so on, and I tried 3 VPNs.Steganos online shield, security kiss, and hotspot shield.None of those worked with google, youtube, yahoo, when I typed google.com with VPN active, it redirected me to google.my country domain, not .country where my VPN was pointing to.But Steganos and security kiss works with sites that have region restriction, hotspot shield doesn't all the time.I deleted cookies, browser history.IF Google, Yahoo, and etc., can see behind my VPN, what stops other real online dangers, that bothers me.Yahoo has a little windows where you can see the weather, it's displayed the weather in my city, but if I click on it, it's redirecting me to weather site where it's updating with my VPN location. How did Yahoo determine my location in the first place in their window and redirects me to yahoo.my country domain, if on the weather site is shown my VPN location weather?Does one know how they can do this? Should I avoid buying the obove VPNs, or this happens with any VPN?I would buy Steganos or Security kiss, but I like more Steganos, is a good pick? I'm willing to listen for any recomandation. majithia23
Although these IP spoofing softwares look interesting , but i would not recommend them esp if security considerations are your reasons for spoofing the IP in the first place .On a more serious note , i would rather not recommend them at all .There are many , many , more authentic , more solid and much better ways of hiding IP's or bypassing internet blocks . Paid and Free .However as this concerns VPNs , lets stick to it .Did you try checking your IP address at any online IP test tools after connecting through the VPN ?try taking a full anonymity test .A VPN if and properly working should hide your IP .And go through this article , which lists the best VPN providers https://torrentfreak.com/vpn-services-that-take-your-anonymity-seriously-2013-edition-130302/

majithia23
Thats strange .Never seen this issue .Atm , dont care about a full anonymity test . Not relevant atm .The thing is to hide the IP properly first .Did you try it with all the services you mentioned and are facing the same issue ?Open a private browsing window and then start Hotspot shield or any other Anonymizer and then test at>Whois>http://www.auditmypc.com/digital-footprint.asp>http://ip-check.info/?lang=en ( .... this is a complete aninymity test . just be concerned about the IP it reports and dont care about other resluts )If every test reports the fake IP generated through the VPN on your side , you can be pretty sure that the VPN or the Anonymizers are doing their job well .If a test catches your real IP , then time kick the tool used out of the system ...... !And then you can also test it on Google or Yahoo as you say !And also , Try testing the same with TOR and see what results you get .Might be the VPN service is configured to redirect a user to his regions Google and Yahoo pages so as to maintain the relevancy of content delivered through these web pages . ( ... eg if you are English and using a German VPN , then landing on the German Google page would be useless to , and hence the VPN redirects you to your local page .... I dont know for sure . Just a guess ! )
AlexCross
I made the tests with Steganos, who was already installed on my system, something strange happened, it failed first site from your recommended list, but it passed the last 2, I restarted my system, I changed to another location and then my internet became very slow, I made again the tests and it passed all of them, google redirects me now to the VPN domain, not my country domain.I' ll try now with Security kiss and hotspot too.Strange how Steganos didn't hide my ip well and after a restart my internet got so slow and then it hide as it should have done in the first place, on all sites, but before restart my internet speed was very fast, youtube load in a blink of an eye, and I could enter Vevo too, who is bloched in my country, I think Steganos has leaks, after restart it took like 30-40 sec to load youtube page, but now every site redirects me to VPN domain not my country domain, but the internet is useless with this speed., from 12 megabytes/s with 2 ms ping to 0.32 Mb/s with 300 ms ping.I wounder if their encryption has leaks too.Ps. I know that my English is bad :) , hope you'll understand what I'm trying to say.
AlexCross
Now I have restarted again my system, my internet is fast as should be, Steganos in on, it failed again the first site but passed the last 2, some sites wich are restricted in my area works, so Steganos partialy hide my IP my internet speed isn't affected, but google can detect my real ip, like the first test site did.I can't realy understand what's happening, after, I tested with secure kiss who failed first test site too but passed the last 2 test sites. This realy made my think about VPNs, I looked on your link about VPNs, but from what I see they don't give trial, so I can test them first, because of what these 2 software acted, too unstable, I don't think that I will still buy a subscription without testing them. majithia23
Your English is fine . I can well understand it ... ;)VPN working after a system restart might be because the VPN software installed some driver , which required a system restart for it to work ,But regardless , if it is working once it should work all the time ! And on all the sites .On and Off at will is not something you will be willing to compromise on ... ;)SO i guess , the services of these VPN providers are not that good . I have seen Hotspot Shield failing sometimes , but as i use the free version so i cant complain! My advice would be to look for some other more worthy and reputable VPN providers .Like BTGuard , Mullvad , Black etc etc ... i have heard some good reviews about these .Even if they dont give you a trial period , you can go for a monthly subscription and see for yourself .And i guess , if you can show them that their VPN service has leaks and breaks and thus reveals your real IP now and then ( ... as in this case of yours ) , they will give you a refund ! ;)To be more sure , talk to their customer support team about this clause before making the payment !If satisfied , continue or move onto next ! ande
Check if anything is blocking TAP from installing or working properly. This seems like the problem by reading your issue.Problem can be security software or invalid driver.Disable IPv6.After you establish VPN this is what you should get:If problems continue check if your VPN support PPTP connection. AlexCross
I have W8, they changed a little the look of the network and sharing center. For example, to make Steganos hide completely my IP, not partialy, I have to switch the 5 locations that it has for 2-3 times until it gets it well, if not, it still hide my conection but not 100%, as I wrote above.I have reinstalled it many times, the same goes for Security kiss, and Hotspot Shield.Btw I'm thankful to anyone who tried to help me solving this issue and for recommendations.
