dcs18
@ rahmad1909When one is thirsty and desires to quench one's thirst 2 things may be required - a cup and the basic necessity water. If the cup is missing, one may still succeed in quenching one's thirst - but, the basic necessity (water) is an essential pre-requisite."Where is your water," my friend - where is your Bluetooth adapter? Where is that Bluetooth device?

rudrax
@dcs18, He PC has a inbuilt bluetooth adapter. The bluetooth installer utility has returned him the physical address of the device. So it is present, just misconfiguard.@rahmad1909, you tried the Atheros driver that I have given you?
dcs18
@dcs18, He PC has a inbuilt bluetooth adapter.Really??? Have you gone through the specifications of the Asus A45VD - it's not a PC, but a NoteBook. :huh:So, how's it able to elude and defy such a powerful being . . . . . . . like you, who is endowed with a Bluetooth Installer - the drivers are the cup that do not contain the water (adapter device) to quench his thirst. :frusty:BTW, unlike Windows 7 - it's very rare for Window 8 to have a driver absent (it contains a much wider driver database than Windows 7.) rudrax
Alright. That means, you have to install it manually. Let's work with it.Extract the files inside the downloaded archive to a folder (if that archive doesn't contain the files inside a folder)Place the folder inside c:\program filesMark the file(s) having ".inf" extension.Go to Device ManagerSelect your Bluetooth adapterRight-click on it and go to PropertiesIn the Properties window, click on Driver tabNow click on Update DriverThen a new window pops up. Click the second option saying "Browse my computer for driver software..."Again a new window pops up. Click on the option saying "Let me pick from a list of device driver on my computer..."A new window pops up again. Click on the button saying "Have disk"A new window pops up. Click on "Browse" buttonThe file browser window pops up seeking a ".inf" file. Locate the ".inf" that you have marked previously and press "open"Do the rest with OK/apply whatever it says.P.S. If the driver folder contains multiple ".inf" file and one ".inf" gets rejected in the process, try another.

rudrax
Different notebooks have different modules. In my vaio, I have a physical switch at the front edge to physically toggle wireless system ON/OFF. Once I had worked on a Acer notebook which had Function key combination to toggle bluetooth ON/OFF. You better open the manual. I can't help you till you get your device physically turned ON.This situation is something similar to this one: "Your notebook isn't receiving AC power because you are not being able to locate the AC power outlet switch."
