For audio, I recommend Cuetools. As converter it has the best database access. Rips fine and is free.

I also like DBpoweramp (mentioned by Weylin here), for uncommon format conversions, Foobar for quickies and Audacity for going beyond conversions with edits like amplifying and fade outs.

You really have to test for yourself to find out what is good for you. On that note, I prefer DVDFab 8.x with Passkey 8 or DVDFab 9.x. Both give excellent results, IMO. It's a no-hassle program. Pretty easy to do.

I've found, for me, the best converter to be:

Anvsoft Any Video Converter Ultimate (pay or patch options)

Bigasoft Video Converter Ultimate (pay or patch options)

Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate (pay or patch options, very fast if you use a Nvidia graphics card)

Video to Video Converter (a real good choice here and free)

2 other encoders not to overlook are

XMedia Recode (free but slow to encode)

MediaCoder (free and slow to encode)

I'm a big fan of Anvsoft Any Video Converter Ultimate... Robust in features, excellent results all the time but can be slow which can be a good thing.

I'm also a big fan of Bigasoft Video Converter Ultimate.. It, too is robust in features and generally gives excellent results depending one what you convert.

Good luck with what you pick...

I had to make an edit: I saw on you list these two programs and let me warn you about them

Number 1.. Stay the hell away from Leawo software especially Video Converter. I still use XP Pro and have MSE plus COMODO firewall. Once you install Leawo Video Converter, you get a warning message from your Windows Security Center saying "You don't have and Anti Virus software installed plus You don't have a firewall installed. Even after you uninstall it, take out the registry entries, Windows Security Center still warns you. Luckily I had a backup image to restore to a previous point. It makes you wonder what Leawo is up to. It also lacks in features for something that's over 60 MB's in file size. It also installs Youtube Video Downloader without asking your permission.

iSkysoft Video Converter is also another bad software to install. It's very hard to crack it. If you put in the well known reg info to register it, there's no way to get rid of it and the software informs you, every time you launch it, that 'You may be a victim of software piracy' plus you get a warning that this reg has been used too many times. There is also a patcher for it but it's over 1 MB in size and I don't really trust patches that big.. I also found nothing amazing about iSkysoft software and heard it takes a long time to encode...Once, again, I had a backup image, Acronis, so I had to use that to get rid of that program, thank goodness. You live and you learn, let me tell ya.

That's it... You've been informed on these 2 softwares to stay away from. The others you listed seem fine but I haven't installed some of what you listed so.... I keep it to a bare minimum on DVD converters and Video converters. Most of them give pretty crappy results like audio/video synch issues when done or the video is degraded from the original video file and other problems like aspect ratio and audio sound when done encoding plus huge file sizes when done. It can leave you scratching your head. I've gone through a lot of programs that are also copycats of other programs like Xilisoft and IMTOO, amongst others so beware.

I hope you find this info useful...
