Video Comparer 1.03

This tool (new here, afaik) is a somewhat rare specimen, at least for end-users. It's supposed to detect similar videos by content.

It's a .NET application using "k-d trees" to index videos and create perceptual hashes. Those are then used to compare videos and present the user a list with thumbnails of (near) duplicate videos, with the ability to auto-delete lower-quality files.

The "Free Trial" Version basically has no functionality, since it does not present anything besides thumbnails. No filename, no location, no playback (limited to the level of the Black Knight in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail").

There doesn't seem to be any crack for this software, I suppose not many people want it or it too expensive.

The installer give me a virus warning, so use something like Sandboxie to install it, the installation seem cleaned however.

Teemoon is a really awkward piece of software...

And I didn't even have much success finding dupes with it.

So I still keep looking for Video Comparer every other week... but no luck. :(

Tested out Teemoon, it really slow that it probably faster doing it manually.

As for Video Comparer, careful when trying to find this software, it seem all to be virus/fake download links.

I'm still using a portable 1.1.003 version i found, I'll upload to virustotal, seems to be clean avira hasnt popped up saying infected when i've run it.

waiting on virustotal hence the reason the delay in posting the results.

As requested.just used it to scan a load of flv mpg mp4 and avi files. ok it took 24hrs to scan on full, but i did recover over 20gb of space.

use MD5summer to check the MD5 as my previous post to confirm its the same version. should be I just uploaded it.

Using full mode is rather excessive I think, Thorough mode should be good enough.

It is a pity, this program is useful, the newer update (according to changelogs) use new algorithm that make searching even faster.

It too bad this is the only one that exist. Either this kind of software is unknown or people just really don't need it.

PS: I too would like to be on that "list" should there be a updated version.

Uploaded keygen to virustotal. 30/57 probably due to it being compressed/protected by Confuser. Tried running it in on my virtual machine in xp. wouldn't run.

Dont try using the keygen with 1.06 requires a new keygen as they changed the coding.

When you run the portable version its not Pro, its free, so you have to run the keygen to activate it to pro. as each computer code is different.

Would rather install the 1.05 version than have it as portable. Looking now for the old 1.05 installer.

uploading the file in a 7-zip compressed archive state is a little different than uploading the actual exe file as the compression of 7-zip will change data and as the numbers show its less compared with mine, same thing would have happened if it had been .rar or .zip or even zipx.

I uploaded the actual exe file in both the original Confuser compressed exe state and the uncompressed exe state. where the packer is the reason behind the high infection rate. hence the program is CLEAN. false positive.

I think the reason it wouldnt work on my virtual image is because of some missing files. possibly due to the fact i dont have dot net installed on it. however i did run it through sandboxie on windows 7 x64 perfecly.

Verson 1.06 uses a different algothium so the keygen wont work on that version, works perfectly on 1.05, i managed to find a working installable version of the app both 32bit and 64bit. The portable version when run for the first time will show as FREE and you need to use the keygen to register it as pro. As i intend you use the app quite a bit to go through all my movies.

I'm always running into an 0x800b0101 certificate error.

edit: Okay... looks like setting the system date back to somewhere

in January helped to make the certificate check pass.
