In regards to making a backup copy of your games here's a workaround for moving your downloaded/installed game to another computer:

1. Allow Origin to fully download and install your game.

2. Copy the entire game directory (Example Battlefield Bad Company™ 2 Digital Deluxe Edition is 8.33 GB).

Now you have basically three options. A: Transfer these files to the other computer over your home network. B: Transfer to a USB key that has enough space then transfer to the other computer. C: Burn files onto a dual layer DVD (This option requires a special drive and space is limited so you may need to span the files across two discs).

3. Once the files are on the other computer in the directory where you normally install your games, navigate to the directory called ""__Installer\DISK1"".

4. Find the EASetup.exe file and run it.

Running this file will create the proper registry keys you need for the game to be detected and launch properly from Origin.

So, what i would do is exactly the above steps but instead of burning it like that, i would create an own autorun setup (that unpacks e.g. an SFX archive which contains the game files into the correct location and creates a Desktop shortcut, you could also split those archive parts on different DVDs), then you can run a command to execute EASetup.exe file at the end to make the registry entries.

And you maybe want to backup the game settings but there is a nice tool for it here.

Having an account on Origin will let you download the game anytime you want! :)

Yup but let's face it, it wouldn't make so much sense yet to burn or backup the game content at this time, BF3 downloads over 3GB of update (i think) and maybe you will need to download the same amount of data later because the game has been updated in the future. I would wait with burning until BF3 goes something like "final" patched. :)

Isn't Bf3 a 10gb download or something (I use origin when it works!)

When I'm looking at doing a clean install, I simply copy the BF3 folder from root\program files (x86) to another partition, and then just copy back after re-installing origin, I've done this a few times as I'm quite anal when it comes to my OS.

I appriciate not everyone has space to just dump backups like this, but it's just another solution IF you can do it.

Yea it's about 10GB download and no sense burning it because as soon as a huge update comes out that backed up file is of no use.
