[Solved] How to remove mp3 album art from icon?

By default, mp3 files display the album art (if present) instead of icon. But I hate that. How to get rid of that.

P.S. I'm not talking about removing the album art from the media player while playing the file.

You might have to go into folder options and enable the always show icons, never thumbnails option. But the thumbnails are cached in windows so then you have to delete the icon cache and reboot for it to actually disappear. Try this guide for how to rebuild your icon cache

Well, thank you mod for the suggestion but the option will also disable the picture thumbnails. I just want that for mp3 files.

Sort only the folder containing those mp3 files into List / Details.

Tiny icons :( Isn't there any other way nup.gif

Yeah, you also want the size to remain unchanged - let me upload a screenshot (caesarean section shall be required.)

Yes, exactly. I don't want the Jesus album art to be displayed and I want big icons not in list/detail view.

Alright, just use any Tag Editor program to delete the File cover art from the music files - I prefer Tag&Rename. B)

Recently, I noticed that Windows 8 Manager has an option to completely disable this album art from being downloaded - check it out. :)

Customization > Customize System > System tab > System Settings > Disable Album Generation in music folder.

This is of course only useful if you have use Windows Media Player or have clicked it by mistake. :P

Tick this checkbox and apply. However, it will remove the thumbnails for all icons you have(pictures, music, videos, etc...)

That's only available for a more modern OS. ;)

Would be easier to help you out if we could get a look at a screenshot of mixed media reflecting the issue like in my screenshot.
