If u are using uTorrent... best bet is to do the following

  1. Go to Options > Preferences
  2. Highlight the "BitTorrent" section of preferences and proceed to step 3
  3. Under Protocol Encryption choose "Forced" on Outgoing
  4. Then on the same section disable "Allow Incoming Legacy Connections"
  5. Hit Apply and OK, that's it!

You should be safe from all the bullshit once this is done!

Setting it to forced and then disabing incoming legacy connections will reduce you to connect to everyone using encryption - anyone not using encryption won't be able to connect to you. Just noting.

I think I will just forget about the thing I was wondering about and find it someplace else. Hell nothing is worth this shit. Switzerland be okay for the blonds and the whorehouse, but I would only get in trouble that way too.

Why so frustrated, the methods above are the only safe ones around.

1 - use a vpn

2 - move to Switzerland

3 - private trackers

4 - furk.net

I'm not being sarcastic, I just tried to help based on your first post and topic title, although I'm not sure weather or not there was more to it since you edited it.

the Switzerland part was indeed a joke.

the answer should be use a safe VPN for starters..

Go to torrentfreak.com and see some of the stories they have run on this..

Not all VPN's are equal and it also highlights a severe vulnerability in the matter i think.

I've been downloading for a good 10 years and i have seen plenty of people getting jail time

and often the FBI is involved and they run stings that stretch for years.

So i have no doubt that ALL VPN's will hand over the keys when the swat team has MP5's pointed at their heads..

In other words they can be logging your activity right now and collecting data etc.

The precedent has already been set infinitely what make s VPN server any different than any other server they take at will ?

I refuse to live in a false sense of security. VPN's may seem to be doing good right now but how do you know your provider isn't lying and logging ?

How do you know a cop isn't there answer the phones for them ?

I could provide an endless stream of example if people think i'm making up any of this.

And i know one thing is for sure and that is VPN's are target no.1 on earth right now for the bad guys

and i dunno about anyone else but i'm not paying money to sit under the cross hairs and hope and pray i don't hear a shot ring out lol

What you want from VPN:

  1. VPN shouldn't store any information except, maybe, traffic size (when requested they have nothing to turn over).
  2. VPN should use RSA 2048 encryption with very complex and long, unpredictable, keys.
  3. RSA implementation must be flawless.
