LiLmEgZ
OK Im going to start a debate topic so to speak...Your thoughts on gaming under Windows 8 vs Windows 7, describing the advantages and disadvantages, the good and the bad... LET THE GAMES BEGIN!Also do you think we should stick with Windows 7 or Windows 8 to play games on.... including this in your post would be fairly helpful to most (if not all) of us :DOh and please be pretty honest on what you are about to say (the community would definitely highly appreciate that!) :)P.S. If you have never used gaming on Windows 8... u needn't even bother posting your thoughts
insanedown58
Older games run better on Windows 7 compared to 8 but Games from 2006-2013 works the same way as they did on Windows 7. I think we should stay in 7 for a while because game developers are developing games for DX 10 or 11 not 11.

Airstream_Bill
I am not a gamer but everything that I have read says the Windows 8 has some problems with certain Games. I would bet that at this time Windows 7 would win.
rudrax
If we assume that WDDM 1.2 increases the gaming performance by 1000%, Win 8 still have driver issues and that sucks!
Administrator DKT27 Posted March 10, 2013 Administrator Share Posted March 10, 2013 At first, gaming in Windows 8 felt better, but since then, it has gone downhill. Glitches and drivers are problems, there are even more higher levels problems I'm facing right now - I'll need to investigate and confirm that it's in relation of Windows 8 - maybe I can just try Linux once and game to see if the problem exists on Linux. I'm interested to know if its Windows 8 problem or just drivers only (or whatever the result may be)

dcs18
Here's a (dozen page) benchmarking article from a site that most folks revere - Tom's Hardware (unfortunately, I do not attest to 3rd party reviews which I've not tested myself - certainly not with special reference to benchmarking.) :dunno:Windows 8 Versus Windows 7: Game Performance, Benchmarked

LiLmEgZ
I just installed the NVIDIA 306.68 driver package from ASUS Software Download page for my laptop... I will let u guys know if this is a "viable" NVIDIA driver to use on Windows 8 (that's if you are using a NVIDIA card)....I'll update you folks ASAP if the driver works fine on Win8 for me :)P.S. I am on a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M card on my laptop, so the scenario may or may not yield the same results for you if you install 306.68 driver kit on Win8.
