Valette
DemoHomepage - Sunbelt VIPREPC Magazine's security expert Neil Rubenking just gave VIPRE an excellent review with 4 STARS and said: "As its name indicates, Sunbelt Software's VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware 3.1 is designed to handle all kinds of malicious software, and it does a very thorough job." Robert Vamosi's CNET review of VIPRE said: "7.8 out of 10: Very Good. VIPRE combines antivirus and antispyware technology in a fast and light application that also includes a worthy set of security tools." But spend a minute to find out what VIPRE can do for a home PC with old-style antivirus on it. Read this ZDNet review that starts out with: "Sunbelt Software's VIPRE - I've finally found an antivirus package that delivers the goods. Next, in a follow-up post he does a performance shoot-out and concludes: "Sunbelt Software's claim that VIPRE doesn't hog system resources and doesn't slow down a PC isn't just marketing hyperbole but is actually true."Westcoastlabs.com certificationVIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware has been awarded West Coast Labs Checkmark for 100% detecting and disinfection of malware in their rigorous tests. Some new reviews:GeGeek.com: "A Totally Revolutionary Approach to Antivirus/Spyware Software… I've been waiting years for some kind of new technology to emerge to fight viruses and spyware…. Well Sunbelt Software has broken the mold. No one is absolutely sure exactly how at this point, but everyone is excited…."VirusBulletin: "…VIPRE did not disappoint. The design and layout is splendidly clear and useable, the range of features easily accessed and controlled. The protection capabilities are impressive, and will doubtless be even more so once a final release is available."
Administrator Lite Posted February 9, 2009 Administrator Share Posted February 9, 2009 There has been some good things said about this software on various security forums. Its the replacement for CounterSpy.Also one of the major creators of the NOD32 Advanced Heuristics and a Similar technology for F-Prot is apparantly working for them. Valette
I don't remember very well Counter-Spy but as far as i know it's only antispyware am i right? If so, i wouldn't classify VIPRE as a replacement for Counter-Spy since it's an antivirus. I'm to lazy to check but i think they'll keep working with counter-spy?@Marik - Yeah, I could do a better job "promoting" VIPRE with the logo and stuff but as i already stated, i'm a lazy person haha...Forgot to add if someone wants a fix for the 15 days trial i can provide you that. Valette
Sorry lol...http://rapidshare.comCode: /files/196497255/fix.rar.htmlThe file looks suspicious because it does nothing when you run it, but it works reseting trial period.Scanned by Virustotal.com, if you don't trust me do a scan yourself.Note: Close Vipre processes, place fix into Vipre folder, run it. Done.

Valette
I don't know, there's only this one on the entire internet.Sorry, found a .txt in the original .rar, it says SSupdater Team
jalaffa
SSupdater Team - I know their homepage. Thanks for the added info man! It's a self extracting rar archive. The comment reads:The comment below contains SFX script commandsPath=%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Sunbelt\AntiMalwareSavePathSilent=1Overwrite=1And it inserts this into the registry.<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?><!-- This is a generated file. I ended up having Winrar associated with all the excutables :P Edit:Some added info...1.Install the program but DO NOT open/run it.2.Close its services if they're running in the background (use Task Manager or via Control Panel-Administrative Tools-Services/need to reboot your PC).3.Now copy the patch into Vipre's main directory and apply it.Enjoy!SSUpdater Team

SacredCultivator
Guess I'll give this one a go.But just curious as I was messing around with switching programs (Anti- Spyware/Virus)Would this be quite a good replacement for both NOD32 (2.7) and Malwarebytes Anti Malware? For those that are late new fix link:http://mediafire.comcode: /download.php?gnj4dm20noj

Aeon7
@Cultivator : I didn't remove my portable MBAM, even if Vipre = Counterspy, that is to say good stuff ;) Concerning Vipre, I use it with Sunbelt personal firewall, and everything seems OK right now. Nevertheless, updates are a little buggy (automatic mode seems not perfectly working.)For the fix :

Regarding NOD32, as a 4 years user, i'd say yes, no solid proof through.A good combo that i use is VIPRE + Comodo Firewall + Malwarebytes.

jofre
Hi ALL ! :dance2: Vipre is now installed on my PC on another Backup System (WinXP Pro with SP3) and it seems very good. None Firewall yet installed ( probably will be Comodo ), but first I need to know if crack is working here and only tomorrow can give news.Just hope the 15 days of trial time remains tomorrow equal, otherwise have to contact our specialist, good friend, Member BOX, to see if he can make a new and efficient Fix.Let`s see tomorrow...Thanks, Vallete and CultivatorI also have been looking for another fix, but only found the same already posted by you fellows.See you tomorrowcheersJofre

Valette
@Ryohku - NOD32 if you want to go with something that has been around for awhile and is proven really good or VIPRE as me if you want something new and that has potential and works very very well of course, better than some big names like Kaspersky maybe.
