nsane
it's a bit more complicated than just converting to mpeg. here's some programs i could suggest...- DVD2SVCD - good all around converter- Cinema Craft Encoder SP - mpeg2 encoder- VirtualDub - for xvid+mp3 files- VirtualDubMod - for xvid+mp3 files- Besweet (with belight) - for xvid+mp3 filesbtw, here's the equation for calculating the proper height (due to the pixel-aspect-ratio difference)...((720/source-width)*source-height)/1.1...always round down to an even number if the sum is odd ;)

nsane
winavi is fast and OK for n00bs, but it lacks on the quality end of things (just a bit). a CCE OPV is prolly your best bet when it somes to MPEG tho ^_^but if ya don't care about quality and simply want it done fast, winavi is good :D
