Updated personal opinion:

  • Avira 2013 (Used it, its a little bit bloated and not so intelligent) -1
  • Avast 9 (Getting better, but a lot of bugs present) 0 | was +1
  • AVG 2014 (Improved over years, but still not a worthy competitor) 0 | was -1
  • Bitdefender 2013 (Bloated junk making computer unusable) -2
  • ESET v7 (Great and light Antivirus, but lacks some options) +1 | was 0
  • bullet_star_rated.png Kaspersky 2014 (Best security, but somewhat bloated) +2
  • Norton 2013 (Not bad antivirus considering the reviews, but haven't had the chance to test it) +1
  • Trend Micro 2013 (Haven't tried it yet) 0
  • Microsft Security Essential (Good for basic users, but it slows down computer when accessing a lot of executable files) +1 | was -1
  • F-Secure (Good antivirus, great features) +1
  • Webroot SecureAnywhere 2014 (Insane amount of annoyances down-voted this product for me) +1 | was +3

My opinion:

Avast: light +5, performance -2, security +3, false alarm -1

Avira: light +4, performance -3, security +3, false alarm -3

Bitdefender: light +3, performance -4, security +5, false alarm -1

Eset: light +4, performance -1, security +3, false alarm -1

Kaspersky: light +2, performance -5, security +5, false alarm -2

Norton: light +3, performance -2, security +4, false alarm -3

* light: less CPU, RAM, HDD

* performance: slow down PC

Well, I think most of you are using ESET as ESET has most votes.

My answer is: None of these Antivirus are the best :) Because your computer's safety depends on how you use your computer, not on what AV you have installed in. If you have a strong AV, but you don't know how to protect yourself from viruses, that AV is useless :)

In some Vietnamese forums, especially in Vn-Zoom, I have seen many people cried and complained because their computers are infected with virus. Most of them blamed their current Antivirus software, but they didn't think about themselves. That's such a bad habit.
