Emsisoft (finally!) and Kingsoft the new entry!

http://www.av-comparatives.org/

The site is still showing December 2012 report

Welcome to AV-Comparatives.org

On this site you will find independent comparatives of Anti-Virus software. All products listed in our comparatives are already a selection of some very good security products.

Products of the following vendors are included in our public comparative test-series of 2013:

AhnLab Emsisoft GFI - VIPRE Qihoo-360

avast! eScan Kaspersky Sophos

AVG ESET Kingsoft Tencent - QQ

AVIRA Fortinet McAfee Trend Micro

BitDefender F-Secure Microsoft

Bullguard G DATA Panda

If you plan to buy an Anti-Virus, please visit the vendor's site and evaluate their software by downloading a trial version, as there are also many other features and important things for an Anti-Virus that you should evaluate by yourself. Even if quite important, the data provided in the test reports on this site are just some aspects that you should consider when buying Anti-Virus software.

Hmm.. why doesn't Comodo join these tests?

Because they were kicked by AV-C for Comodo's CEO being an @sshole. Long story short, Comodo scored less in one/couple of tests, and they tried forcing AV-C to post only results (to public) in which Comodo scored well - something that was against AV-C rules - you apply for tests - you participate in all the tests. What followed was series of fights between AV-C and Comodo. Comodo CEO started abusing AV-C by making false accusations and such, for which, AV-C gave him proper replies one after another.

The case was similar with Norton, Symantec didn't wanted to participate in all the test, hence, no participation at all, but we don't see them arguing with AV-C.

well he is a nice guy! i don't really care about these tests!you don't really see what sample they used methodologies they use! infact i kinda prefer youtube test you see how some suites block url,how unknown exe gets sandbox, how cloud detection works and several time you will see bitdefender ranked no1 for detection! but franckly telling there are so many good suites out there,Comodo, avast, eset sometime i feel like these sites are paid to promote some product!

I know that there is something strange when one does a search for a Antivirus or Suite review. One can find what ever answer he or she prefers. I think it is best to try out several and find the one that seems, and I reiterate SEEMS to do the job for the individual. Common sense should play a role in ones choice knowing the difference between a Free Antivirus over one that is purchased. You only get so much for FREE in this world. That is my 2 cents worth.

I saw why Melih didn't agree to put Comodo in AV-Comparatives, he says that AV-Comparatives forces the AV Vendors to do whatever AV-Comparatives says and if they don't AV-Comparatives will leak out confidential information about the AV or the AV Vendor.

http://www.melih.com/2011/11/29/av-comparatives-org-bullying-censorship-and-financial-deals-with-anti-virus-vendors-continued/

So I guess its just another marketing strategy.
