I need some help on overclocking an ASUS Maximus V Gene, please :)

Hello my friends,

As in title, I decided to ask here on nsane forums because I'm sure that someone can give me an instruction about this case.

First off, excuse my poor English, it's not my main :)

So, I bought this motherboard a couple months ago and I'm willing to make a small overclock on it. I don't have any experience on doing such thing and what I need is just a small increase on the max CPU clock.

Let me explain it better. I have a ASUS Maximum V Gene, a i7-3770K processor, 16GB (2x8GB) G.Skill Trident 2400 Timing 10-12-12-31 (F3-2400C10D-16GTX). Right now it's all configured pretty much on default settings on BIOS. The CPU clocks down to 1600MHz when idle - if I'm not wrong - and goes up to 3900MHz under full load. All the process is automatically done, which I like that way. Those values are the default for that specific processor. What I want to do is to increase a little that maximum clock when CPU is under load so it can reach some like 4200MHz. I don't want a fixed/manual clock value running all the time even when the computer is idle, but I want it changing those values automatically depending on the load.

As I said, I don't have lots of experience on doing that, so I would need a sort of guide telling which fields that I have to change on BIOS setup and the correct values...

My only concern is to enter a wrong value that could break my motherboard.

So I ask please, if someone know what to do, have a guide or a address where I can get the info, let me know :)

Thanks in advance.

You can use ASUS AI Suite II to automatically or manually overclock.

TurboV EVO can automatically make adjustments for you, and is quite safe.

It should be on the disc bundled with the motherboard.
