Recommended Posts

Here, it is a Video from a Legitimate News Channel.

(If you cannot watch it, please, Disable your Ad Blocker and Refresh the page).

-I tried the Firefox Extensions ''Download Flash and Video'',

"Video DownloadHelper", and "DownThemAll!" without luck...

-I also tried Nirsoft VideoCacheView, RealPlayer, UMPlayer,

StreamTransport, Free Video Downloader without luck, too.

Is there a way to Download the above video?

It's theoretically impossible. It's encoded in ASF, which is encrypted with DRM.

As per wiki:

The ASF container provides the framework for digital rights management in Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video. An analysis of an older scheme used in WMA reveals that it is using a combination of elliptic curve cryptography key exchange, DES block cipher, a custom block cipher, RC4 stream cipher and the SHA-1 hashing function.
PS. Only @$$holes make a site in a way that provides the content only when you disable the the adblocker and then, encrypt the stream in age old format.

I could download this video which is made up of many small segments of 1.5MB each and they claim to be in the Apple original QuickTime format but I doubt very much as Apple Quicktime Playewr could not play them. :( May be what DKT27 said they are encoded in ASF, which is encrypted with DRM, then your best option is to do a screen recording of the video. ;)

This explains why all the Tools I tried failed!

Thank you!!!
