access to forum blocked unless proxy is used ?

Hi Folks.

I've started getting some very strange inability to reach this site specifically.

The only error I get at all is the meaningless 'connection to the server was reset while the page was loading' in Firefox.

Tried Opera too - and got nothing; IE even (YUCK !!!) just says it cannot load the page.

This has happened at different locations and even on different people's PCs using different kinds of broadband connections too.

If I come in via webproxy.stealthy.co - it loads fine.

Stranger still, I can reach nsanedown.com all I want, directly.

Tried installing the 'Stealthy' add-on for FF, but it's not working - also says it cannot reach it's server.

If I've got to use a proxy all the time I will, but this is all new to me and I hope somebody else here knows a good way to get in without using a web-based proxy site.

Thanks.

Nope:

C:\ ping nsaneforums.com

Pinging nsaneforums.com [141.101.116.192] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

Reply from 64.17.120.137: Destination host unreachable.

Trying another proxy add-on right now to see if that helps...these things seem to really mess up how any entered text comes out when posted !!!

@shought: CF doesn't allow pinging. ;)

@smallhagrid: What anti virus are you using? Someone had reported Kaspersky is blocking us. Have you tried clearing your dns cache and changing the DNS?

Thanks DKT27.

The AV I use is NOD32 and I turned it off & on - no change.

The firewall too - no change.

Haven't done anything with DNS at all, but if that was the problem would I get the same inability to get to this site from different ISPs, towns & PCs ???

Switch to GoogleDNS and flushdns since accessing via non-DNS-URL (IP) is not possible.

Google DNS : 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

@D Kaspersky is blocking only one topic.

@Staff Is there any possibility that nsaneforums/CloudFlare for whatever reason is blocking his IP or range of IP's that his IP is part of? @smallhagrid I doubt your ISP is blocking nsaneforums.com, and if your PC is not the one that is blocking nsaneforums.com via firewall, host or similar apps and above solution doesn't work, then problem is on server side.

Did as instructed before I left there and still had to use a proxy to get in.

Now I'm back where the trouble 1st started - about 20 miles from where I was earlier today, and got in without the proxy...

This is just baffling; seems kind of random too.

Thanks.

@DKT thanks, I did forget about that, but the ping results do actually help :)

This is most definitely a DNS issue. When you ping a Cloudflare IP address it should not refer you to another IP address (Cloudflare simply doesn't do this) the same for our domain: it should always point to one IP address (141.101.116.192). The fact that it doesn't is the problem.

I'll get back to this in a few mins.

This problem has occured to me also

I thinks it is not a DNS issue especially if it was whitlisted

It may be some registry component issue

The problem was solved ,accidently ,when I deleted 2 keys from the registry as a part of registration of tuneup utilitites 2013

The keys I delted are:

For 32bit:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{64A3D41B-61A5-4834-9A42-FDE1C37C0010}]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TuneUp\Utilities\13.0]
"ATInfo"=

For 64bit:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID\{64A3D41B-61A5-4834-9A42-FDE1C37C0010}]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TuneUp\Utilities\13.0]
"ATInfo"=

Try This and ur problem may be solved Or Uninstall ,completely using Revouninstaller for example ,any program u installed just prior to the appearance of the problem otherwise setup another windows
