According to a new report Facebook is working on an app that would track users all the time to alert them to nearby friends. The app would definitely also be used to serve localized ads to its users.

Facebook, the biggest social network on the planet with more than a billion users, seems to want to know even more about you. More precisely Facebook seems to want to track you at all times.

At least that’s the gist of a report from Bloomberg that came out on Monday and says that Facebook is working on a smartphone application that would track users’ location even when the app isn’t opened. According to this report the app itself would be used to track a user and alert him whenever friends are nearby but the actual use of the app is so that Facebook can serve you localized ads.

Facebook has been struggling for a long time with their mobile strategy and this app, if it actually comes to market, is just the latest effort by the company to try and monetize its huge user base and mobile presence.

The social network has already come under heavy attack amid privacy concerns for its users and launching an app that continuously tracks users’ location is definitely not going to help. Similar products from Apple and Google have failed to gain any widespread adoption due to the same privacy concerns Facebook will now face.

According to Bloomberg the app is set to be released sometime in March of this year though an exact date has yet to be set.

Facebook can kiss my ***. This is a greater version of privacy invasion AND spying...not to mention target you with smart ads. I don't use Facebook anymore but I am testing out PlanetInfowars.

Now, ladies & gentlemen - it is with great honor that I present to you our very own under-cover agent, Ambrocious.

He is going to inspire us with an essay of not less than 900 words on how FaceBook is the latest Denizen to setup backdoor traps for Suscribers like us leading right to the porch of the CBI, FBI, Mossad, Al Qaeeda and other Intelligensia.

C'mon Ambrocious - the stage is all yours

Don't let the government lie to you. You deserve the truth. Here is just one thing, there is more.

The contents of your video are pretty stale news - dated 2006 (we're in agreement over what they tried to depict.) :)

Not even a single word on your usual claims about CBI, FBI, Mossad, Al Qaeeda and other Intelligensia!!!

Does it empower you to revel in NOT understanding how things work? If the information was that open back then, then now for sure it has advanced even more. Facebook is a social network website to chat and post personal things but it doubles as a massive database gathering tool. It triples as a secondary auxilary in defense regarding personal information because people are more than willing to post all sorts of things online about themselves; you are disarmed by a welcoming open invironment with friendly controls, games, chatting, planning and so on and so forth.

You would be nieve to believe that in time of war the government is not as well engaging in one hell of an infowar too. Data is VALUABLE, free data is INVALUABLE. The government knows this, you don't, and this is why ignorance leads the role in the prevention of self preservation. I can't jab my hand directly into the United States Government's Intranet and pull out top secret classified data mining contracts which are still top secret and still not fully seen (blueprint's). It's not just the governments engaged in this either, it's also coprotations, as you know, Facebook holds great potiontial for business as well as scams.

Point being that on Facebook, you submit your information out there as a whore does to her pimp: FREE. You don't feel alarmed or upset by this I bet but please make a note that someone is making money on YOUR information which you voluntarily surrendered in one of the worlds largest ongoing data mining scam. If I talked to you for an hour and it was a really great talk; shared life stories, told me about your grandma, how it was growing up, what you like to do for fun, if I took that info and told you that I was going to sell it, would you not be angry? Whats the point? Why aren't you up in arms for? What has you disarmed? Where is your defense system??? You are being victimised and you defend the perps!

Facebook is only one thing. The data collection is ENORMOUS! They are using dishwashers and microwaves to spy on you as well as WIRED covered in March 2012: CIA Chief: We’ll Spy on You Through Your Dishwasher

Yes, I believe it is very nieve to believe that free data about us in intimate ways is NOT being gathered, especially now when the United States is in the process of a horrific transformation of power. Many enemies will be made and many more, discovered. It's standard protocol for the government of any country to have superiority over it's people in almost everything. This is no small issue at all, and the fun is all just beginning. Just wait for the REAL infowar to start. You may want to cover your ears, eyes, mouth, and mind because the stuff that is coming down the pipe will force people to become real. I like that saying, "A man never really knows himself until he looses his freedom".

I can't serve perfection to you. The information which I provided was true back then and is still true today, if not, what has forced our digital information enforcers to relinquish thier force? I don't see a 500 meter tall alien threatening to kill all life and so don't even tell me that they have stopped collecting data just because you have already came to a conclusion about something. The best part about knowing the truth is that it works as protection as well as internal edification. The government doesn't care about you. You are not a part of them...unless you actually ARE a part of them politically or something.

Vast amounts of information will come out after the wars are all done (God only know how long that will be). The only problem here is that depending on if free humanity looses the war, the wrong information will come out; paving the path for a global tyranny birthed from death and lies. We all truly are at a crossroads here. Accept reality as it is, not as we wish to believe it. Let us hope we win because there is a great deal of people who need to be healed; victims who fight for thier oppressive masters, never knowing they are not even cared about in the least.

Special Note: In-Q-Tel which has the special purpose of delegating it's money towards defense such as the CIA, ALSO funds Google; yet another GIANT information gathering system, probably the largest in comparison to many other things. Many social enteractive online places have been converted to act as a secondary operation (covert really) in order to spy on people. In-Q-Tel funds what it controls. Whoever "pays" you is your boss right? You do as your told right? Does any of this make sense?

The point to all of this: they indeed collect information about you, it would be child like to try and even imagine it any other way.

we mostly know what Ambrocious said, well I do anyways.

facebook has been about selling your private data to governments and your nude photos (girls) to pedophiles since its creation date, yet people still continue to post more photos and more personal data.

money is absolute power and absolute power corrupts absolutely, so it's not like your average users can't post fake data to evade this per se, it's just that he/she is tricked into thinking facebook is a safe place to share said info with your childhood/school/etc friends without the thought that your data would be sold to advertising companies coursing through your head.

now I don't know how much of that cia thing is true but I do know that the reason I keep receiving mails about viagra and shit in my yahoo account is due to the fact that I used that mail address to sign up on facebook (troll acc with fake data)

well, in any case, if you want to sleep with the devil, have the courtesy of wearing rubber :tehe:

I do not think that there is any disagreement nor anyone by this time that does NOT know facebook is a giant data-miner.

Frankly, aside from windows itself, it is the largest data miner on the planet. Because of that simple fact, it would be stupid

for ANY agency not to use facebook for info. The plain and simple point is.....people do not care! As a point of fact, alot of us "old timers", basically people that beta tested this bitch, TOLD all of you back then what the freakin danger was.

Get off your high horse now. It is too late. No one did anything as the new and nifty chat program proceeded to start gathering info on everyone that touched it, and now it is so large that it can gather info whether or not you think you are touching it. Just look for that little "Like" tag on just about every damn website you go to.

Point is...IT IS TOO FREAKIN LATE>>>GET OVER IT.

You the general public had a chance many years ago to stop the monster, instead, you fed the damn thing. Your fault. Live with it.

And by the way, I do not care if you disagree or not. And I am not going to waste my time dragging up proof that was tried years ago to inform. You did not listen then, you sure as hell will not listen now. Enjoy that which YOU created.

P.S. Yes, google is the same thing. I just do not care any more.
