When installing ASO latest version on Windows 8, it installed .net framework v3.0,v3.5 (without asking). And in Uninstall Programs, its not listed.

  1. Does it[.net framework] automatically be uninstalled when uninstalling ASO?
  2. How to remove the .net framework[v3.0,3.5] after uninstalling ASO?
  3. Does it[.net framework] do any harm to system files if uninstalled?

AFAIK, .net 2.0 and 3.5 not built-in on Win8

So.

1. IMO. Nope

2. Control Panel>Programs>Turn on/off windows features. You'll find it

3. Nope. Just on software that need it.

But i got security updates for v3.5 after installing ASO. And it[v3.5(includes2.0 & 3.0)] is there in "Turn WIndows Features On or Off"

But just turning off will not uninstall[if i toally don't need it]. So can i use cleanup tool[http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx]

.net are very important don't off/uninstall it

But v3.5 not very important for Win8. Bcoz it already have the latest .net framework. Only the s/w needed it. And mainly ASO downloads & install it automatically without asking. Just a text saying "installing .net framework" was shown. And no option to cancel it

IMO:In My Opinion. Just internet slang :)

 maybe you're right, but better to keep it cuz some software out there still need it.

Just this one s/w installed it and that too yesterday only i installed ASO.

And do i need to install .net framework 3.5 before installing .net framework 3.5 SP1[Full package]?

You can't disable just by disabling auto update. And i won't enable auto updates itself, always ask me option only.

if you plan on running ANY legacy programs in Windows 8. You are going to need earlier versions of .NET

The coding is not backwards compatible for .NET
