bioman777
I know that most people don't use it for multimedia but I am wondering how to add sound to it.I'm not an expert on this but i have tried to manually install sound drivers, but when I go into the device manager, there is no sound device to select that has no drivers. I try to install the realtek installer but it always says it needs atleast SP1. Though I would find it useful to test hardware without installing windows on a machine. Can't test the sound hardware with it now. Thanks to anyone who can help. I can't find anywhere on google where poeple asked about audio.

Dodel
Interesting idea, but the way I understand Hiren's cd working is that it pretty much runs the OS in a RAM drive , so THIS is the OS that your realtek drivers are looking for not the OS that's installed as default on your computer. Because Hirens runs the OS in a ram drive, the file paths are all pointing to the RAM drive also, (not sure if Hiren's has SP1 of anything of the sort, not totally ofay with PE environments.)Additionally issue with your idea (or how I see it), is that you would have to cater for the large majority of sound card models and have drivers on the dvd, increasing the capactiy beyound that of a normal dvd. Also, even if you do have the required drivers, you would have to enable Hiren to auto detect & auto install the correct drivers.I wouldn't say it's impossible, just highly impractical imo.RegardsDodel
