nsane.forums
Prelimiary data from Net Applications shows that Windows 8 was installed on a total of 1.64 percent of all PCs in December, with Windows 8 and RT Touch adding another .06 percent. In November, Net Applications claimed that, according to their data gathered from 40,000 websites, Windows 8 was installed on 1.09 percent of all PCs worldwide. Today, the company's preliminary data from December doesn't show that much of a jump for Windows 8 in the marketplace yet. The December data now shows Windows 8 on 1.64 percent on all PCs, with two offshoots (Windows 8 Touch and Windows 8 RT Touch) adding another 0.06 percent to that marketshare. Even with the slow growth, it was enough to push Windows 8 past Linux in the PC operating system industry. Net Applications showed Linux had claimed 1.21 percent of the market share in December. Net Applications also showed Windows 7 still on top with 44.94 percent in December, a slight rise from November's 44.71 percent. Windows XP went down to 39.45 percent compared to 39.82 percent from the previous month. Windows Vista is third with 5.59 percent, down from 5.70 in December. Mac OS 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 were next on the list at 2.24, 2.06 and 2.00 percent, respectively. Even with the slow growth of Windows 8 at this stage, it's likely that it will pass all of these Mac OS versions in the first quarter of 2013. smvgopitamil
Windows 8 does not have eye candy interface as like Windows 7. It has no Start Menu and no Gadgets and Aero Interface. But Start Menu can be got back by third party softwares like Star Dock's Start8 and StartisBack etc. But when we try to bring back the Aero Interface or Gadgets through third party utilities, Windows 8 Explorer often crashes for me. But Performancewise Windows 8 is more soft and responsive than Windows 7. Windows 8 Boot Time is much less than previous version Windows. In Windows 7 Hard Disk Activity is more when it is in idle condition. In Windows 8 it seems to be less. Windows 7 is a rough operating system with slow task execution speed. Windows 8 is quick and smooth in task execution and performanewise it is better than Windows 7. It seems to me that it is lighter as Windows 98 and powerful as Windows 7. Though it has many bugs, Microsoft will try to fix them through updates and Servicepacks in future. Those who want softer and quick responsive OS and is using Windows 7 should consider to upgrade to Windows 8. IMO Windows 8 is better than Windows 7 in Performancewise. Don't force users to use the shittiest interface ever made.
