nuthut
Without posting someone else's opinion or website.; what do you, as an individual user, not like about the new OS?Please don't use the overplayed "I don't have a start button" . All of the start button features are still here, just click on the charms bar magnifying glass. We are all intelligent adults here so lets please keep this a civil conversation? nuthut
It is not obvious how to perform simple tasks - such ad closing a full screen app.on non desktop applications, simply, go to the top of the screen click and drag it down to the bottom of the screen. It will close. Also, if you don't use the application after a specific amount of time ( I don't know the time frame), the application will close on its own

pr1xsel
It is not obvious how to perform simple tasks - such ad closing a full screen app.Because your not suppose to close them, M$oft wrote that apps are on suspend mode so very few ram goes to waste and since ESC and ALT + F4 aren't working then it means you are forced to learn to use Windows button on keyboard to hide and open a new app or move mouse to left or right corner or just drag from up. Olexijl
Well, i am feeling quite good - no problems with health so far... thanks for asking... ^_^Seriously, change the title here. Those n00bs may got curious. :oWell, to the facts: i'm running Win8 on VMware in enterprise version, i just installed Decor8...I can say it is running w/o problems so far, i installed however Start8 to have my start button back. Firefox is running well, Skype is as app available and running, i have to test now something else. The "boot sounds" you usually have while booting are not available, however the sound itself is running good if Win8 is already loaded (what's wrong with VMware?)I personally think that Metro interface has his advantages however should not be priority and the people should have had the choice. But because it came differently, it is good to have Start8 around.
Administrator DKT27 Posted December 30, 2012 Administrator Share Posted December 30, 2012 Moved the thread to Software Chat. Renamed How do you really feel? to Windows 8: How do you really feel?I personally think that Metro interface has his advantages however should not be priority and the people should have had the choice. But because it came differently, it is good to have Start8 around.Exactly. +1.
Sonar
Try booting into safemode on windows 8 :lol:for some reason my F-keys wouldnt let me boot into safemode... I had to come into the desktop just to tell it to boot into safe mode.if you cant get into the desktop with that happening you cant get into safe mode without third party stuff
koksa
Microsoft thinks realy the right way with win 8. As it was with Vista, but the problem is implementation of first generation of there changes.Metro apps take very long to start - even the simple ones.Start screen needs more features to be realy an advantage (more scales of tiles, more interactive capabilities of live tiles, better connection with desktop environment)Store is very limited in functions - desktop and metro apps are mixed together (desktop apps cant be installed from store), which is wrong, updates works sometimes worse, no featured apps, suggested apps, and much more.Desktop mode feels very separated from the new modern functions - just remove Aero glass is not enough to realy connect those new environments (old icons, old ribbon, different role of right click in metro env. and desktop env., Charms from right treat desktop as one app - works differently than in modern env. )
speedpedal
I Bought three Windows 8's. I put one on and uninstalled it after a few days. Win 7 is better for my needs, and certainly more intuitive. Now they're planning a new version for the summer of 3013. It's sort of like when a Doctor prescribes an expensive drug for you to buy, then you find out it won't work for you and your stuck with it! How many foo pas will the public put up with? Administrator DKT27 Posted December 30, 2012 Administrator Share Posted December 30, 2012 I personally think lot of problems could have solved even if desktop users were allowed to resize the Start Screen / Metro to something like this:
eurobyn
i like windows 8 and office 2013. yes there are some things that could be better but .it is nice working if you use some tweaks like start is back and use the desktop.my opinion on this is microsoft why did you loose the start button and programs.if you work with windows 8 you will see that it is a nice operating system but some things are so different as before.and why the hell using this modern ui.if you could use the desktop.
