Eset Antivirus enough for full protection?

Personally, I rate a firewall higher than an AntiVirus in my security setup. I tend to rely primarily on my firewall and only secondarily on my AntiVirus.

How can you compare those two? They have totally different purposes... Both are necessary imo. I rate both equally, because I don't want to be hacked nor don't I want to get infected... But getting hacked may be worse :D

Anyways... I've read some system security reports and reviews and there is a general consent that the most complete defense combination is AV + FW and 2 antiSpies (which imo is a bit paranoid, I think one or none are enough if you got good AV and FW, and even less necessary if you know how not to surf the net)

Firewall = emphasis on 'prevention'

AntiVirus = emphasis on 'remedy'

I prefer 'prevention' to 'remedy' (women with unwanted pregnancies would agree with me on this.) :hehe:

I agree with you that both are necessary (a firewall as well as an AntiVirus.) All I'm saying is my first line of defense is to remember to lock my doors instead of concentrating on battling it out after the Rapist has crossed into my home. :D

So you see - it's not at all about comparison (I vote for both) but with more (not equal) attention on the Firewall. :coolwink:

I just sleep with my friend Billy The Bat under teh pillow.

Let those skateboard co**su**ers come......I'm gonna enjoy.....breaking their f****ng legs !!!!!! muhawhawhawhaw

but seriously you should consider keeping both firewall and av around....and if your worried about ram consumption, just turn your av off, and do regular scans (weekly for me) from time to time

Hey Blaster - Rapists, pregnant women & Billy the Bat seem to have decided to invade this thread from nowhere.

Our apologies that we forgot - but welcome to the forum, have fun here.

Hahahaha...

My frank opinion is that many ppl does not really read or understand when their firewall's prompt about intrusion or execution.

Most ppl will click 'OK' upon the prompt and that defeat the purpose of firewall.

Its not a 'install and forget' kind of software.

Anyway, I hope everyone here knows what to do when prompt by your firewall.

He He!!!!

Prevention is certainly preferable to cure. A firewall, though is most daunting for Noobs to be using - they eventually request you to uninstall it on their behalf.

Guess Noobies who visit here (perhaps seeking 'warez') would benefit from learning to use a firewall. :wtf:
