Red X on Connection even if connected to Internet

HELP! After I saw the BlueSoleil 8 from here I gave it a DL, installed it and followed the instructions from the ReadMe. Afterwards, the Red X that should've been gone is still there! I need this certain part because my ISP is requiring me to monitor it but I can't properly because of the retched X!

I tried the following:

System Restore (didn't work)

Re-installing (same)

Any other solutions than a complete re-install of Windows?

Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections and check if there's any other devices there. If it is, disable it. Doesn't work? Open Device Manager and search for anything related to Bluetooth or anything that has X or ? on it. Disable it.

Now check.

Do note: As long as you disable the above, you won't be able to use the function of the disabled things (like bluetooth). Enable and disable anytime you use it.

try this:

open command prompt

Ipconfig /flushdns

Netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

Netsh winsock reset and then reboot the pc.

if the red x is still there after reboot, please remove network cable and wait a minute and connect again if it's still there i would go to the device manager disable and enable the local area network connection (your primary connection) and/ior uninstall network interface card drivers and reinstall them.

I've had a similar issue before. I think you should search the thread in here. I don't remember when it was.

@ rudrax

What are you doing with that prehistoric IDM in your System Tray Icon Notification Area.

I like that icon over the modern one..You know: The world is colorful because there are flowers of different colors :P

OK, navigate to ( Control Panel >>> Network and Internet >>> Network Connections ) and check whether you find any network adapter there bearing the name bluetooth.

If yes, just configure it to show in your System Tray.

There is no option exactly matching to Network Connections in windows 7.

I'm on a more modern OS, here - so descriptions might differ. :P

Right click your LAN icon >>> click Open Network and Sharing Center >>> Change adapter setting

You should reach where I tried to lead you in my previous post.

Yeah, now right click that one and get into it's pants (Properties) - you'll have to hunt for a box to enable (tick) that that the icon should be displayed in the System Tray.

There is no such options in its property..BTW, the icon is displaying but not it's status while connected and that's the problem.

That's a different network LAN icon that you're seeing. :)

Yeah Disconnected LAN icon but it should change after connecting and it doesn't :(

Nope, you misunderstood - the disconnected icon that is presently visible at the System Tray does not belong to the Bluetooth adapter that's currently connected.

Hmm.. deleting the Bluetooth and everything doesn't seem to work. Deleting and re-installing the Bluetooth drivers don't seem to work so I'm stuck. Its a good thing Dropbox can report if there's internet or not.

Network 2

Internet Access

Unidentified Network

No Network Access

PS:

The unidentified Network is VirtualBox and removing it doesn't do anything positive.

Previously from the day I bought the laptop, I have the same method of connecting to the internet and I'm seeing this so called redX icon while disconnected and now as bugged, it is still redX while connected.
