coolng
What tutorial you wish to creates? On screen recording? If that was the case I think Camtasia Studio is highly recommended. It is at approximate 250 MB size though for the installer alone.
RadioActive
Try this, it's a free cut down version, but it's one of the best in my experience:http://www.bbsoftware.co.uk/bbflashbackexpress.aspxhere the difference between free and paid versions:http://www.bbsoftware.co.uk/BBFlashBackExpress/CompareEditions.aspx

Ambrocious
You said your looking for a portable app? Well, there is an app that lets you CREATE portable apps that you may want to check into, it's called ThinApp. I can also vouch for Camtasia being pretty good, but it's not portable by default I don't think. NOTE TO MODS OR ADMIN: ThinApp is a program developed by VMWare and might be considered for a front page item.
avmad
I always used Camtasia, but version 8 is always crashing for me. I started using Mirillis Action now with no problems. It's pretty small software as well. Then put it into Camtasia to edit (still crashes sometimes) so will probably use Sony Vegas soon.
