csmdew
I have been burning most of my dvds using convertxtodvd4 for the past year or more but lately I have had a few disk that hang up saying 5 sec remaining to burn but never finishes. When this happens I have to shut down and disconnect power to dvd burner, reboot, shut down again and re-connect the burner, reboot and then it will work again. Not sure if the program or the burner is causing the hang but seems to be burner. I want to try a different converter program that's as easy and as good as convert is, suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
speedpedal
IT does have problems. The Old One Worked Just Fine. Leave a good thing alone!
FreeRyde
No problems for years, but recently had the same Convertxtodvd 4 issue with a couple of files also; 20 seconds remaining. I have no idea what was causing the problem, but after removing a few minutes from the end of the file (some credits) it convered fine. I'm using Convertxtodvd 5 now without issue: http://www.nsanedown...?news=164753424 It's considerably faster with MP4 formats and has a few more encoding and processing options. There are also editing options. I'm more satisfied with each update.

May re-install it and try again but looking for another good converter/burner.
majithia23
Try out a disc burning session with - Burnaware Free .Ultra light , quick , efficient , hassle free .Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the external DVD burner .Run a lens cleaning disc of good quality . ( avoid the cheap ones , they can actually damage the lens )Try out a different make of the DVD disc .
FreeRyde
Check your settings under General Settings > Burning. At the very least use the encoder to write to folder, then burn with Nero or whatever you like.

Re-installed and checked setting and found default to burn not checked so after checking this I converted another movie and it burned to disk as requested. My question on this one now is why can't you preview the conversion in progress. Once started the setting preview became unchecked when originally checked, thanks.
