General Lee
Hello. Recently I had mentioned in a topic regarding a specific kind of IM program that I was looking for. I've decided to come around over to Skype. A lot of my friends use it and want me to get on that. One of my main concerns on that is privacy. If I am talking to someone, it saves a chat log. First, can that chat log be saved and moved to a seperate location or is it only saved within the program itself? Second, can the chat log even be deleted permanently? Third, if it indeed does get deleted, can your information/chats and everything still be seen and pulled up by Skype/Micrsoft servers and all if they wanted? Thank you for any help. :)
Israeli_Eagle
1. You can copy the log files, but still encrypted anyway2. Yes, of course you can always delete whatever you want.3. No, deleted is deleted.and... Skype sends everything encrypted, so only you and the other person can read but nobody else.
Sonar
if you mean the chat history that can be turned to "no history" within the options? - I think its default to keep chat logs for 2 weeks.
nIGHT
That truth is before microsuck bought skype. Now, I doubt that all data will be sent and stored in the microsuck's servers.
