In fact Internet and Media are the main cause of the reason but there is a sign of relief for common people as NASA has cleared this fact that nothing is going to happen on December 21st 2012. What’s the Rumor? This world is going to end on December 21st, 2012. Earlier the end of this world was predicted on May 2003 which is now extended to December 21st 2012.The base of these rumors are the Mayan calender . What is the Origin of this Prediction? This rumor is based upon an old time story which claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet which was discovered by Sumerians is heading towards earth and will hit the earth and will destroy everything.The doomsday was earlier predicted on May 2003 but nothing happened on that day. This is the reason why people have moved towards the Mayan Calender which ends on December 21st,2012. Many people believe that Mayan were more advance in technology then us and the end of calender means end of this world. Media Reports and some stuffs on Internet has caused a tense condition among several peoples but as I said earlier, a latest report from NASA shows that nothing will happen on that day and it will be just like any other winter. So don’t worry. Does Mayan Calender really end on December 21st,2012 Many People believe that Mayan were great in terms of technology. They designed the calender up to December 2012 only but it doesn’t means that the world will end on Decmeber 21st,2012. To check this fact, have a look on the calender in your home. Do you place any calender up to several upcoming years? Your answer will be “No” . The case was very similar there as well. So don’t worry this world is not ending in the month of this winter i.e december 2012. Is there any Planet or Brown dwarf like Nibiru which can hit this Earth? Nibiru or any other such planet is nothing but an internet hoax.There is no any factual basis.Astronomers are consistently having a close look over any such body and believe me they haven’t found anything yet.If you will consider the old story, it would have been seen by naked eyes till now.It is not visible till now which means there is no such Planet or brown dwarf.However there is a dwarf planet named “Eris” but it is similar to pluto and will remain in the outer solar system.It can come closest to the earth but still have a large distance i.e 4 billion miles. Is there any other danger like being hit by a Large Meteor which can end this world? The earth is always prone to be hit by Comets and Asteroids but big hits has been noticed in very rare cases.The last big hit was noticed almost 65 million years ago, which was the cause of extinction of Dinosaurs from this planet. Now a days, NASA astronomers performs Spaceguard Survey whose aim is to find all kinds of large near earth Astroids so that we can get enough information before they can pose threat to our extinction. A report from those works has cleared this fact that No any such Asteroids or Meteors are coming to the earth.So Nothing is predicted to hit the earth on December 21st,2012. Is there anything to do with Polar shift theory? Polar shift theory,as the name suggests is a theory which says that Earth’s crust does a 180-degree rotation around the core but NASA rejects it as they believe that it is impossible.However they believe that slow movements of continents are possible. The example for the same is Antarctica,which was near the equator several millions of years ago.I don’t know who is spreading this kind of fear among people. Don’t worry no any such thing is possible.Just keep enjoying your winter holiday and prepare for the Christmas without worrying about the end of this world because nothing is going to happen on December 21st,2012. This reading requires an open mind: There is a new age belief that says "the ascension" will take place on that day but will slowly take place over a period of a few months before humans ascend into a 4th dimensional being. 4th dimensional beings are able to manifest things by thought and are at least a million times more intelligent than we are currently. The problem here is that IF the ascension happens, however that person was BEFORE the ascension, that is how they will be AFTER the ascension...in personality at least. If you were a secret murderer, you will ascend into a terrible being. If you were mostly good and cherished what is good, you will ascend into something good. We will be unable to die basically (by normal terms anyways). Those people that would be considered "evil" right now will have the least ability to do things while those that are humble and pure of heart...it will be like they are the Admin of a Minecraft world with World Edit and about 10,000 different management plugins. In the book of Revelation in the Christian Holy Bible, Revelation 9:6 says: And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die , and death shall flee from them. This implies that people will be unable to die. I don't claim that any of this connecting of the dots means anything significant but it is fascinating to think about. So just make sure you're ready for your turn (it may be before the end).My view: if you take a look around you - we didn't happen by accident, everything around you, the plants, the land, the sea, the animals.. all just happend? Nah. If you look further, you will realise that we as humans only conceive what we are able to, but there is so much more we cannot conceive of (with what limited knowledge we have at our disposal). If everything around us just worked out so perfectly, then what more isn't possible? And as mentioned above, we will always exist, but no longer in this body/world. If anything 'happens' on the 21st, it will NOT be 'the end of the world'...lol I believe we will make 'first contact' with the creators of our world/universe. It'd take me forever to explain it all out in a forum post but there are plenty of places to read all about ancient astronaut theory on the net. A good start is the history channel's Ancient Alien series. Season 1 is basically a summary and seasons 2 & 3 go into greater detail and helps to explian season 1. Like I said...it's a good start but it goes muuuuch deeper than the series or VonDaniken. Perhaps the person closest to understanding and making sense of it all died just recently...Zacharia Sitchin. He was the worlds foremost authority on the earliest kown human civilization, the Sumerians. He spent a good part of his life translating the cylinders on which the Sumarian historians recorded what happened in their age. Some say Sitchin is wrong about this or that, but he wasn't...he simply translated the majority of the Sumarian's history books. It is nothing short of amazing how everyhing falls perfectly into place. I'll post up a few links when I get time. Here is the old thread where I first mentioned A.A.T.
