november_ra1n
I strongly recommend everyone create a partition and install Windows 8 Freshly rather than upgrading. You can use dual boot both OS. Here is the good article creating partition and install Dual Boot: How to Dual Boot Windows 8 and Windows
psyko666
I did a fresh install of W8 Pro also, works fine dunno if centserick2 did a upgrade of fresh install, if not just format a partition and boot up from DVD with burned ISO on it... Sonar
Download and burn another copy of windows 8. just to shut out a bad copy/burn of the disc you aready have. (ignoring usb option). Download and run the "upgrade tool" - at the end it will tell you if your computer can run windows 8.
JessicaLeigh
I deleted and created new partitions when I installed W8 and had no problems, whatsoever.
dcs18
is it safe to update bios especially on a laptop?Yes, nowadays it's quite safe to update the BIOS - I just updated mine from 'Legacy' to 'UEFI.' Moreover, updating the BIOS is safer on a laptop than on a desktop. ;)
