Looking For Security Solution

My experience with Avast Internet Security has not been the best, after being unable to install the firewall module due to an unknown error and lack of support on the avast forums i'm looking for a better, more efficient and light on resources internet security solution

i'm undecided between these 3: ESET IS vs Avira IS vs Norton IS

an easy to configure firewall is a must, because i still use emule, mirc (sysreset) and soulseek to transfer files and they need specific inbound and outbound rules.

i own and in fact sell 2 of the 3. personally i use eset on my own machines. i want to like avira but i have had to many issues with it such as bsod before sleep, bsod from certain drivers its not fully compatible with win 8 yet etc..

norton is NOT all its cracked up to be. i sell it trust me. its good but has its issues. it was best in 2009 when they first made the awesome transistion from the old junk bloated garbage it used to be. each year its been a bit more bloated and there are a number of issues people are having with the 2013 version which you can see over at wilders and nortons forums.

eset is not without issues but i find its light fast detection for me IRREGARDLESS of what av tests show has been stellar and the only issue i have is once in a while they like to block websites like nsane due to the nature of the content.

norton has the best firewall of the three when in manual mode where it allows good app control.

eset firewall is CRAP when set to auto mode needs to be in interactive or learning to work well, and has the ability to create a lot of custom rules if you need to for things like emule etc.. it can be a bit difficult unless you are good with a firewall though.

avira has basic app control firewall i find easy to use and works well if you want a nice basic app control firewall. this is the most easy for people who just want to either allow or block a app but it doesnt offer a ton of configuration.

i personally hate the norton interface but i like eset then avira out of the three you mentioned.

norton has a excellent behaviour detection in their sonar but i find it way to sensitive and flags a lot of non malicious things like keygens as virus' just because they are keygens...

i could go on forever. but out of the three personally i would go for eset then avira then norton and again im being totally unbiased because i sell both eset and norton and can get avira from a reseller.

If you're 'limited' to those three, go for ESET. But you should also try the latest CIS beta. If you can get past the main GUI weird looks, you'll be very pleased with the suite itself. Its one of the best and the lightest i've seen.

I wished to try panda cloud AV but unfortunately for some reason I can't..It seems to be a very good solution..worth a try..Get a 6 month license from here (Courtesy of zed)

Like the page and wait the Download button to become green and download the installer. Execute the installer. Wait till it downloads necessary files to setup. The license will be included.

ESET is the best choice, fast and light :)

In combination with MBAM Pro and MCShield , i don't have problems for couple of years :)

I'd like to write a short essay, here - but, that would amount to nothing but just another senseless opinion. Choice of a security system depends on the competency of the User.

The practical way to find out which one is best for you is to try them out in as similar an environment as possible and then judge for yourself - the results might surprise you.
