Eset Nod32 Mara fix 1.5 vs Mara fix 1.6

Hi

I used Eset Nod32 Mara fix with trial versions of Eset Nod antivirus version 3 & 4.

There, the trial period was reset every day to 31 days and so the Nod32 antivirus staid valid for "ever".

Today, I tried Eset Nod32 version 5 with Mara fix 1.6.

I saw that the Mara fix installed an OEM license for Eset Nod32 antivirus till 01/01/2014.

What happens at 02/01/2014? Will the Mara fix extend the license periode or do I have to run the Mara fix again? Also I noticed that version 1.6 of the Mara fix doesn't install any files like the fix.exe file in version 1.5 of the Mara fix.

Kind regards

Ragdd

That's just cosmetic. And you're mixing two fixes. mara- fix 1.5 is a very old fix, which I don't recommend any-more. You should use "box, mara- fix" v1.6.

Cheers ;)

I usually use the older version of the fix on the older version of the antivirus, and vise versa.

Maybe my question isn't clear.

In the past, I used trail version of Eset Nod32 antivirus version 3.x and 4.x with Mara fix 1.5

Here you saw that trial period staid at 31 days and you trial license is "forever".

Now I use Eset Nod32 antivirus version 5.x (trial and retail is the same installation file).

Here I use Mara fix 1.6.

But Mara fix 1.6 installed an OEM license valid till 01/01/2014.

My question, what happend after 01/01/2014, will the fix install a new license valid for x month or do I have to run the Mara fix 1.6 again?

With Mara fix 1.6, you dont have a trial period of 31 days that stays valid like in Mara fix 1.5.

Bye

Nothing should happen. I think it's just for looks.

@ Ragdd

The new fix is also a Trial Reset like the older one - what you see on the exterior is just cosmetic.

As an example, it's comparable to flat women who undergo plastic surgery and come out with big huge boobs - but deep within, they're the same old Trial Reset (I mean person.)

Please let us know if you understood or would need to have some more examples. :sneaky:

To be clear, the OEM license date 01/01/2014 is just for looks.

So with Mara fix 1.6, the Eset Nod32 license stays valid even after 01/01/2014?

Should be. If not, I'm sure that Mara would be glad to assist if the license expires. Then again, you do have a year before it happens, so maybe ESET will be on a version that will require a newer fix anyway.

You obviously didn't read my post. That is just cosmetic, and same as previous fixes, trial forever. And, what are you using now is "box, mara- fix", there is no just mara- fix any more.

Cheers ;)
