FukenGruven
i was an avid Opera champion..so enthusiastic, i've been using the out-dated Opera 12 till yesterday!slowly it's become decrepit, sites no longer work, and has become slow..Opera as we know.. has dropped it's proprietary Presto engine..and now use Webkit.. the Chrome standard.I tried the latest Opera but it lacks major features.. it's more of a test version.I've had enough of Opera.. and figured .. why use Opera's version of Chrome when Chrome is the originator.so i switched yesterday..and i am pleasantly surprised..it's fast.. light.. has nice features.. and may videos that did not work in Opera.. now work in Chrome? (i assumed it was due to my hosts file)sometimes change is necessary..sometimes change is good..im glad i tried Chrome.. it's my main browser now..As for firefox:something about it .. i don't like..i can't pinpoint it.. and i used to be a Firefox fanboy before using Opera.. 2Old2Remember
I am using firefox for most of my browsing needs because of all the extensions that i can get to do whatever i want. but the latest IE is the snappiest browser that i have used and loads a lot of pages faster than a clean firefox install for me. if it had extensions like firefox, it would be my number one. As for chrome i try to stay away because you never know what the maker is collecting about your surfing habits and where you have accounts. Google it a little and u soon find out that its a bit creepy. Always loved Opera browser although the new move to chromium engine i don't like so much, but have no say in the matter :). JimmySvert
I am a firefox fanboy despite the fact it's getting slow (in v. 26)...and it get's on my nerves...someone has to disable his favorite plugins between major updates 'cause he'll find out that these cause the browser not to respond correctly...i use only paf format of Firefox....Don't know about privacy of browsing habits, but i am afraid they are all collecting our info on way or another...so we are exposed... FukenGruven
but the latest IE is the snappiest browser that i have used and loads a lot of pages faster than a clean firefox install for meyou're so right..since IE came w/Windows 8..i figured .. what the heck..why not give it a try..i liked Chrome.. but i was using PortableApp's version and it caused 2 task bar icons.. a pet peeve of mine.IE 11 is by far the lightest in terms of RAM usage..it barely makes a dent..very impressive..i've made the switch until further notice :)Thanks for the suggestion.FYI: here's a registry tweak to force IE 11 to always open on the Desktop:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]"ApplicationTileImmersiveActivation"=dword:00000000"AssociationActivationMode"=dword:00000002 Edited January 4, 2014 by FukenGruven
