Picollo
Since a few weeks ago i installed a microsoft update that stopped me from controlling MsMpSvc, i can't kill the damn thing or disable, can't do anything as it's always greyed out.from what i've red dumbasses at Microsoft did this on purpose as i see many people with the same problem. i want to kill msmpeng and i cant and msmpsvc is always enabled.I was wondering if there's a way to stop the service from running and to kill msmpeng. i tried pskill taskkill nothing works, i also tried in an elevated command prompt, nothing works.i know i can use autoruns to disable the service but there must another workaround
sirri
are you using Wind Defender ? if yes, try to disable/turn off "real time protection" within option. Go for MBAM and no need Wind Defender :wub:to kill service,go to services.msc and find that service then change startup type. Why choose MSE, try Avast Bro..stronger protection IMO

Administrator DKT27 Posted October 31, 2012 Administrator Share Posted October 31, 2012 Did you found the folder where the MSE service can be? Then, use Unlocker to unlock the service. If it can't find any way to unlock, rename or delete the service file.Say, is MSE disabled? If so, it might prevent you to touch the service. ande
Go to Safe Mode, run services.msc and disable service.Another method:Open a command prompt as administrator.Use this command to disable service, in this case name of service is MsMpSvc:sc stop "MsMpSvc"sc config "MsMpSvc" start= disabledTo delete this service:sc delete "MsMpSvc"

sirri
Say, is MSE disabled? If so, it might prevent you to touch the service.agree with this.. I think, it might be based on security consideration. Since update MSE v.4.1.0522 (KB2754296),MAS service locked, unchangeable and greyed out

I think, it might be based on security consideration. Since update MSE v.4.1.0522 (KB2754296),MAS service locked, unchangeable and greyed out syahrial yes that's the update i installed. but why microsoft did that? security consideration? that's limiting the users operations within the operating system and force users to have a service always on that's consuming RAM in the background when earlier this could be easily disabled. from the moment you install the operating system it's you who decide what to do not them. mikie
Might try searching HKLM and delete carefully MsMpSvcyou will need to take permissions on a few things MSE,Search your hard drive and destroy folders and contentsMicrosoft Security ClientMicrosoft AntimalwareIts a pain in the neck to uninstall it all .. I just went through that and never found an easy way.It was messing up my wake from sleep functions... clashes with something ? Once all cleaned out it reinstalled ok.
